Nasi Ayam Sambal has built a devoted following at Geylang Serai Market and Food Centre, located at 1 Geylang Serai on the second floor. This Muslim-owned stall has won hearts with its focused menu centred on delicious chicken rice paired with spicy sambal, demonstrating that excellence in a single dish can sustain a successful food business.
Operating from 8am to 2pm, the stall attracts crowds that pack the area from noon onwards, testament to both popularity and quality. The chicken rice preparation, elevated by the spicy sambal accompaniment, offers remarkable value with meals praised for being both mouth-watering and affordable. Accessible via Paya Lebar MRT station Exit C with a short walk to Geylang Serai Market, the location serves both the local Malay community and food enthusiasts seeking authentic preparations.
The stall's success lies in perfecting one signature dish rather than spreading resources across a large menu. Contact at +65 9779 0178 allows for inquiries and orders. The morning-only operating hours suggest fresh daily preparations and limited batch cooking, ensuring quality control while creating urgency for customers to visit before sellout. For those seeking halal chicken rice with a spicy sambal kick in the culturally rich Geylang Serai area, Nasi Ayam Sambal delivers consistent satisfaction at prices that make it a go-to choice for locals and an authentic experience for visitors exploring Singapore's Malay food heritage.

Very full plate of food. The sambal was quite delicious. The chicken was a little cold and dry. Overall, not bad and good value considering the portion size.

It used to be awesome, but not today. Mom bought chicken in the afternoon. We asked for chicken thigh but they gave us breast. The chicken was so hard I could mistake it for a stone. If you're selling food, be honest, brother. If the chicken is from yesterday, don't sell it.

Ordered the Nasi Ayam and found a cockroach in the food. On top of that, the rice didn’t taste fresh at all. This was very disappointing and concerning for hygiene. I hope the restaurant improves its food safety and quality.

I decided to try this place on a wet Saturday morning. The queue was rather long, and it grew even longer while I waited for my food to be prepared.
I must say I had some reservations about this food. The rice tasted fragrant, but the chicken was rather cold. The sambal, which is their signature, was on the sweet side, which is fine for me but may not be to everyone's liking. The dish itself was just rice and chicken with some cucumbers (more like the Chinese chicken rice).
The price I paid for my food was reasonable.

Didn’t expect much since I’d never heard of this stall, but to my surprise, the ayam goreng was super sedap. The rice was fragrant and well-balanced (not too soft, not too dry).
