The beef rendang was a bit hard and quite salty, needing to be eaten with rice. The hot lemongrass water was too sweet. The food was generally nice. However, the service was slow and the staff's attitude was not good. We went around 1 pm on a weekday when it was less crowded. I'm not sure if it was our seating location, but they didn't even bother to look in our direction to see if we required any assistance.

Ordered my usual: Beef rendang, prawn crackers, Soto Ayam, and yellow rice. However, the taste and quality here weren't as good as I've had at Jewel. The portions are consistently small, just right for one to two people per dish. The sambal chilli was good though. Other than that, service was okay, and the restaurant was very clean and neat.

Okay Indonesian food. The best dish for me was tahu telur. The sauce was too salty, attacking the tongue. The gado gado and lontong had a good mix of vegetables, and you can order the sauce on the side, so it feels healthy eating these dishes, although probably not meant to be eaten like this. Haha. I found a piece of short hair on a cucumber at the bottom of my lontong dish, but I didn't mind it.

The restaurant is spacious and wasn’t busy at all on a Saturday evening (this says something about the restaurant, as most other places in Orchard have snaking queues on Saturday nights). We had high expectations but were left disappointed. The food was served cold, including the rice (how?). They should have the decency to at least try to microwave the food. Portions were small, and the food, while salty, was lacking in any other flavour.

First of all, I had an unpleasant experience here. The first impression when we were waiting to be seated was that they seemed to be short-staffed. Before I came here, I didn’t know they had received a Michelin award. Now I know why they are so unpleasant and rude to customers. I came here with my family, just wanting to eat Padang food. However, only my partner and I wanted to eat here, not my kids, because they had already eaten at a Japanese restaurant. My kids had just eaten elsewhere before coming here, and they placed their food containers on the table. A staff member came to our table and told us we couldn't open that food and couldn't eat it here. I understand that I shouldn't eat outside food in a restaurant, but I had only placed the food containers on the table! I have never been treated like this in other restaurants. I thought they should learn how to treat customers politely, especially with the Michelin award they received. I would have ordered more, but they treated me that way. I only ordered a set menu, and so did my partner.
After the food arrived, I encountered more rudeness. Another staff member said, "Give me your plate." I didn't understand at first, so I gave him my plate. Rudely, he said, "No, no, no, without a spoon and fork, just give me your plate." As far as I know, in other Padang restaurants, staff usually take plates from the table when customers arrive, or better yet, don't put plates down at all, so they can serve the food with the plate. I don't understand how they received Michelin stars with that attitude.
Then, the worst part was that the ayam gulai I ordered tasted like smelly armpits. It made me want to vomit. The beef rendang tasted good, as did the chicken satay. What kind of ayam gulai is that? It didn't taste like Indian curry or Padang food. It genuinely tasted like sweaty armpits. Really bad!
