Had a meal here a few months ago during their 40% discount on Grab. When we walked in for lunch, only two other tables were seated, and it was very quiet. The server was nice and brought out a cake as we were celebrating a birthday. The food was not the best; I’ve had more flavourful Turkish food and would be better off going to the Sultan Mosque area. During payment, I was paying through Grab and thought to use an existing voucher on the app. The cashier told me I wasn't allowed to use it as it wouldn't tally with their receipt. That was fair enough, and I paid accordingly without fuss. I understand that sometimes merchants don't accept vouchers. Subsequently, I returned to my seat only to hear the cashier telling his colleague that people should not 'anyhow pay and should ask first lah.' If a restaurant accepts various payment forms, they should anticipate customers using associated benefits. Perhaps do due diligence and inform customers beforehand. Customers don't know your rules or payment systems. I was informed, and it was a non-issue. However, talking about customers within earshot is unprofessional. It was a slow day and not busy, so the attitude was unwelcome. Maybe discuss customers in the backroom? Once again, the server was really nice. Negative points for the cashier, though. It only takes one person to ruin the service.
