West Mall opened in 1998 as a neighbourhood shopping and entertainment destination serving residents of Bukit Batok, Tengah, and surrounding estates. Located at 1 Bukit Batok Central Link next to Bukit Batok MRT station, this eight-storey mall spans 183,000 square feet of gross floor area on a 106,000 square feet land plot, making it a significant retail presence in the western region. The mall offers a comprehensive mix of amenities including fashion and accessory vendors, jewellery retailers, gift and specialty stores, telecommunications providers, cafes, restaurants, a food court, a six-screen cinema, post office, community library, music school, electrical and household stores, and a supermarket. This diverse tenant composition ensures residents can fulfill most daily needs without traveling to larger regional malls. A major Asset Enhancement Initiative completed in early 2025 has revitalized West Mall with new features including Eat@W, a basement dining wing housing over 20 F&B and retail outlets. The previously open-air space has been transformed into a large, sheltered event plaza suitable for community activities and gatherings. Looking ahead to the first half of 2026, the Bukit Batok Library will reopen within the mall, further cementing its role as a community hub.
