The menu features beloved local favorites including Hainanese Curry Rice with options like Chicken, Chicken Drumstick, Fried Fish, Fried Prawn, and Sambal Sotong served with fragrant rice and rich curry. Additional offerings include Wanton Noodles, Fishball Noodles, Ban Mian, Laksa, and Claypot Rice, ensuring a comprehensive selection of Chinese hawker classics.
With more than 18 halal-certified outlets across Singapore, including locations at Alexandra Retail Centre, Bedok Mall, Changi Airport Terminal 3, 313@Somerset, and Compass One, Encik Tan has made authentic Chinese cuisine accessible to Muslim diners throughout the island. The restaurant's commitment to preserving traditional flavors while adapting to halal requirements has earned positive reviews for dishes like their crispy chicken cutlet with moist meat and well-seasoned curry sauce that balances spice with subtle sweetness.

I went to Bukit Batok West Mall to buy laksa for dine-in and asked to customize it with kway teow and yellow noodles. The staff replied in a fed-up and rude tone, saying there were no yellow noodles. I went to check with my mum and came back to order mee hoon and kway teow. The same staff replied again, stating I had already been told there was no kway teow, in a fed-up tone, when I had initially only heard about the absence of yellow noodles. It was only 10:30 am. The counter service is bad. The food is okay. Who would want to go back when the staff sound so fed up at the counter?

This used to be our go-to place for lunch. We loved the laksa, fish ball noodles, and even the curry chicken chop rice. However, our last two visits weren't spectacular. The curry rice has been less than satisfactory. The chicken was over-fried and there was about a third less than before. The sotong was almost invisible. When we questioned the server, she just shrugged her shoulders and said, 'It is what it is.' We will never eat here again. Is the staff pilfering the food? So disappointed... feels cheated.

There was a small cockroach on my plate, and the lady was kind enough to get me another plate with the same gravy they cooked the roach in. So, I'll give one point for that. Never eating at Encik Tan located at West Mall Bukit Batok ever again. Never eating outside food actually.

Super slow service. The person at the cashier can never get anyone's order right. I confirmed again that I ordered mee pok, but everyone just looked at me and proceeded to do their own thing.

I like the Laksa from Encik Tan. The gravy is flavourful and the thickness is just right. Other foods generally tasted average and weren't very special. The service was average; perhaps a bit more friendliness would make a difference. The atmosphere was quite nice in the morning when it's not busy, and sitting outside wasn't too hot.

Located on the ground floor near one of the entrances. It has indoor and outdoor seating sections. This is a normal Enick branch and serves all the local favorites. Personally, I come here for the curry chicken cutlet rice.
