The dancing fish was very nicely fried and crispy! However, it lacked in the flavour department. There was no sauce, so it was a bit challenging to finish. The chilli sauce was way more spicy than I could tolerate, so I couldn’t eat much of it. The star of the show was definitely the brinjal! Full of flavour and not overly mushy! By itself, it bumped up my rating by .5!!

Tried it once in another outlet and decided to give it another try. It did not disappoint – in terms of how bad it was. The meat was too small and dry; it didn't feel like I was eating Ayam Penyet at all. The chilli was super spicy, which isn't a bad thing. The service staff had a bad attitude. They didn't even speak, nor did they provide basic service (and still charged a 10% service charge for no service). The atmosphere was trash. There was a loud radiator next to the tables, making it impossible to have a conversation. Now I know why this place is empty. EDIT: There was no music playing. The sound was not from grilling; the restaurant has faulty machinery. Food portion has nothing to do with quality. For the amount you're charging, it doesn't justify the quantity or even the quality of the meat. The meat was dry – what quality?

Just don't bother ordering their Bawal Penyet; you'll understand when you see the photo. The Gado Gado was good, but the Ayam Geprek was a bit too sour. Overall, it was just 'meh'.

The cashier can be more smilling when telling the customer to put the luggae at the correct place.

The cashier could be more smiling when telling customers to place their luggage in the correct spot. It would also be appreciated if they could be gentler when reminding customers not to bring outside food. Please, madam, smile more and don't show an angry face to customers. The food was also so-so. The sate ayam was not Indonesian style; it was more Malaysian style. Therefore, I ate here not in a good mood. Thank you for your services. I hope you can upgrade your services and the taste of the food.

Perhaps things have changed since the negative reviews. My food was delicious and the portions were great. I don't usually leave reviews, but I saw the bad ones and felt I should post to counter them. Service was good too—the lady even suggested I had ordered too much for one person initially, and she was right. However, the loud machinery nearby is annoying.

Pretty decent Indonesian food with good prices at Funan! The gado-gado is quite enjoyable, especially the peanut sauce which still has chunks of peanut and isn't watery. The ayam geprek is okay taste-wise, but it's quite crispy. The belacan chili could be spicier. There's plenty of space available on weekday dinner times, and service was quite fast.

This is an ayam penyet store worth trying out. It's located in City Plaza and has a cozy interior. During lunchtime, seats are usually available as it's a quiet mall. The ayam penyet was great, and I liked the crackers. The chilli was fragrant, but be warned that it is super spicy. If you prefer other types of chilli, they also offer four other varieties. If you don't like chilli, there are non-spicy options as well. Other than chicken, I also enjoyed their duck and promfet. Do try them out.

The food and atmosphere were okay. The price point was also fair for a place in town. You order and pay at the counter, but the food will be served to your table.

Second time visiting this Indonesian restaurant, and it's just as good as I remembered. The ayam penyet here is genuinely authentic—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. The sambal has just the right amount of heat, giving that perfect kick without being overwhelming. Paired with fragrant rice and fresh sides, it's a solid meal that keeps me coming back. Definitely a spot worth revisiting.
