The dancing fish was very nicely fried and crispy! However, it lacked in the flavour department. There was no sauce, so it was a bit challenging to finish. The chilli sauce was way more spicy than I could tolerate, so I couldn’t eat much of it. The star of the show was definitely the brinjal! Full of flavour and not overly mushy! By itself, it bumped up my rating by .5!!

Penyet Specialist Went to this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. While my friends had the ayam penyet, I chose the soup buntut (oxtail soup). I asked the waiter if the soup had already been prepared and boiled for some time beforehand, and he confirmed it. To my dismay, when it arrived, the soup was not a proper soup that had been boiled for some time. It was obviously something made on the spot. It turned out like boiled flavoured water. The oxtail meat, though, was tender and quite succulent. Overall, I'm giving this dish one star. What saved the day was trying the ayam penyet. It was well-flavoured and cooked to perfection with some killer chilli. 5 stars from me. The waiters seemed overworked and had too much to do. Perhaps that's why my question wasn't answered correctly. This is a self-service place. The acoustics of the place were such that noise reflects and reverberates in the closed-up space, resulting in an extra noisy environment. It didn't help that there was one particularly noisy group that made it hard for us to even talk to each other. Go there only for the ayam penyet.

Today, I visited this restaurant with my son and helper. Our order number was 3. We ordered 2 ayam penyet and 1 gado-gado. The service was very poor as they missed our order and were extremely late in preparing it. The staff's attitude was not good; even though our food was delayed significantly, they never apologized. To make matters worse, one of the staff members shouted at me when the food was ready, "Kaka, take your order, number 3." The gado-gado tasted okay, but the ayam penyet was really salty. I'm unsure if the chicken was fresh or overcooked. Most drinks were out of stock; they only offered canned drinks or mineral water. Very disappointed 😞

Came here because the Google reviews looked really good. Was unfortunately rather disappointed by the food. The Tahu Telur ($6.90) is tiny, a one-person portion, and comes with a side of peanut sauce that isn't very punchy. The Ayam Bakar ($8) is not very tender, but the chili that comes with it has a good spicy kick. Also ordered the dancing fish ($12.90), which I think is really cheap for a whole fish! I guess it's okay for "fast food" and I'd consider it on the cheaper side as well, for Indonesian food.

The kangkung belachan, freshly made, is incredibly delicious. The grilled chicken is also good, although the chili sauce could be spicier. It’s not self-serve, but the staff is attentive and will happily provide more.

Spacious place and well-decorated. Self-ordering and self-pickup. However, staff should be more attentive and quickly attend to waiting customers at the entrance. We had to call a staff member to be seated and saw two couples walk away after no staff attended to them. Food quality is good and the price is quite reasonable. So far, still one of the best Halal places to eat around Orchard Road.

Really enjoyed the authentic Indonesian food here. It's fairly inexpensive, so you can order a few dishes. Definitely a good weekday option, even for takeaways. The service is a little slow, but that's average for Indonesian restaurants. The classic hot sauce is nice and spicy. If you prefer less spice, go for the green chilli. If you really can't eat spice, opt for the oxtail soup! Came back later and managed to order exactly $69 worth of food. Nice...

The food was fairly good. I ordered the Geprek and thought it wouldn't be spicy, but boy, was I wrong! It was super spicy, but nice because it provided a good kick. It's usually easy to get a seat, but the day I went, it was crowded.
