Just don't bother ordering their Bawal Penyet; you'll understand when you see the photo. The Gado Gado was good, but the Ayam Geprek was a bit too sour. Overall, it was just 'meh'.

Food is on the above average but not great scale. Service and ambience is very good.

The food is above average but not great. Service and ambience are very good.
Unfortunately, the main reason for the low rating is the portion size, which is very small for the price. The squid and rice alone is $15, and as you can see, the portion of squid is quite stingy.

The bakso soup with mee hoon was average in taste, though the portion was generous. The soup tasted heavily of MSG, and there were some tendons in the meatballs. They got stuck in my teeth, which was annoying, so it may not be the best option for more important occasions.

The grilled fish was actually fried fish that was then grilled. It didn't seem fresh. The same applied to my friend's grilled chicken; it was obviously fried first and then grilled. The food was tough, and we only managed to eat about 50% of the meat because the rest was so hard from being deep-fried. This was our second visit (giving it a second chance) as our first experience wasn't good either. This restaurant should serve genuinely grilled food, and at the very least, freshly grilled food.

Pretty decent Indonesian food with good prices at Funan! The gado-gado is quite enjoyable, especially the peanut sauce which still has chunks of peanut and isn't watery. The ayam geprek is okay taste-wise, but it's quite crispy. The belacan chili could be spicier. There's plenty of space available on weekday dinner times, and service was quite fast.

The food and atmosphere were okay. The price point was also fair for a place in town. You order and pay at the counter, but the food will be served to your table.

Second time visiting this Indonesian restaurant, and it's just as good as I remembered. The ayam penyet here is genuinely authentic—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. The sambal has just the right amount of heat, giving that perfect kick without being overwhelming. Paired with fragrant rice and fresh sides, it's a solid meal that keeps me coming back. Definitely a spot worth revisiting.

First time here, and I really enjoyed the food. It definitely exceeded my expectations! The flavour, execution (the meat was tender and shreddy, and the squid was perfectly cooked), and the sambal were perfect in complementing the dishes. I also love it when restaurants serve ayam penyet-style dishes with complimentary soup and keropok on the side. It makes the dish complete and feels like the restaurant takes pride in the customer's dining experience. I'll be dropping by again to try the rest of the menu, which will be tough because I really loved the Iga Bakar!
