Hawkerman represents the innovative evolution of Singapore's hawker culture under the established Tenderfresh Group, bringing traditional street food heritage into contemporary dining environments with a distinctive hipster aesthetic that attracts both traditionalists and younger generations. Located at Street Kitchen on Haig Road with additional presence at prestigious venues like Singpost Centre, Funan, Seletar Mall, and Clementi, this halal-certified establishment successfully bridges the gap between authentic hawker flavors and modern dining expectations. The concept celebrates Singapore's street food legacy while presenting familiar dishes in elevated settings that honor both traditional preparation methods and contemporary presentation standards.
The menu at Hawkerman showcases Singapore's most beloved hawker classics with signature offerings including their unique Hokkien mee with lobster that elevates the traditional dish with premium ingredients, alongside heritage recipes for fried, BBQ, and roasted chicken preparations. The establishment also features Good Chance Popiah, maintaining the authentic preparation methods that define this beloved local snack, and traditional Hokkien Mee that respects the time-honored techniques passed down through generations of hawker masters. The kitchen operates with no service charge policy, reflecting the hawker tradition of accessible pricing while delivering the complex flavors that have made Singapore street food internationally renowned.
As part of the Tenderfresh Group's commitment to preserving and modernizing Singapore's food heritage, Hawkerman serves as a cultural bridge that introduces younger generations to traditional hawker flavors while providing established communities with familiar tastes in contemporary settings. The establishment's halal certification ensures that Singapore's Muslim community can participate fully in the hawker culture experience that defines the nation's culinary identity. Hawkerman continues to demonstrate that traditional street food can successfully adapt to modern dining trends while maintaining the authentic flavors and community spirit that make Singapore's hawker culture a UNESCO-recognized cultural treasure.

Ordered the chicken cutlet and Laksa fried rice, but both were way too salty—it felt like I was dining in the ocean, as the saltiness overpowered everything.

I love the Hokkien mee here, which is fried by a Chinese chef. Despite it being halal, it has a very excellent savory taste that beats many traditional Hokkien mee. There was one time when he wasn't around and I thought he had left. Fortunately, he is back...

Waited 45 minutes for Tom Yum fried rice that turned out to be cold and very average in taste. What made it more frustrating was watching multiple GrabFood delivery orders being fulfilled before walk-in customers like me – clearly a priority issue. Despite the long wait and disappointing food, there was no apology or acknowledgement from the staff. I understand peak hours can be busy, but basic courtesy and food quality should not be compromised. Not returning at all.

😋 Our Take:
⭐ Faves: The Mee Jawa Goreng and Dry Mee Siam were a delightful mix of classic flavors with modern twists.
The Chye Poh Kway Teow stood out with its unique touch, though it was a tad sweet for my taste. Other new dishes included Assam Laksa, Dey Laksa, and Oyster Omelette.

The starch is mixed well with egg, which makes it crispy and not oily despite how it looks. It makes you crave for beer. I also like the sambal coating the oysters. Eat it fast before it gets soggy.

The taste is just right. Especially the menu that interested me was the chye poh kway teow, which tasted smoky with a hint of sweetness, a mixture of pepper, and crispy chicken. For the oyster omelette, in my opinion, it's a bit oily, as it's a crispy type of omelette. The dry mee siam is really suitable for spicy and sour lovers, with the ikan bilis topping truly adding to the enjoyment of every bite.
