The worst seafood experience I've ever had. The portions were small and disappointing. The sambal stingray was tough with a thick, leathery skin. The sambal sotong had more onions than squid. The cockles were particularly bad—hard to open, not fresh, and lacking sweetness. The sambal kangkong was nice, but overall, a very unsatisfactory meal.

Rude staff. Terrible stingray and expensive. This tiny piece cost $15, and it didn’t taste like it was barbecued. It was just a bland piece of skate wings slathered with mediocre sambal.

We ordered the sambal stingray and sambal petai from them. The portions were small, and the stingray was still raw, so we had to ask them to recook it. The petai was fine, but nothing to write home about. I would not recommend this store; there are many other places nearby selling the same dishes.

The staff were rude and it took forever to prepare the order. If I followed up, the staff would push back. They also use the fish on display and sell it to customers.

The food was very meh. It was still edible, but I'd recommend trying other alternatives at East Coast Lagoon. The stall owner had a rather unhappy attitude while serving, which was quite off-putting. I wouldn't trust the recent barrage of 5-star reviews, as this isn't the best zi char stall I've tried. It doesn't even beat the average stingray I've had.

Friendly staff and the food was delicious! Their black pepper crab was very fresh and fragrant, and the sambal kang kong had the right balance of spicy and umami.

Actually, I thought the sambal stingray was delicious. It had an unusually fresh and fruity chilli flavour which worked well on a hot day. The price is slightly higher than at other stalls, but at least it tasted good.
