Old Chang Kee has been Singapore's legendary curry puff destination since 1956, when it began as a humble stall in a coffee shop near Rex Cinema on Mackenzie Road, earning the nickname "Rex Curry Puff." Under the visionary leadership of Mr. Han Keen Juan, who acquired the business in 1986, Old Chang Kee transformed from a small corner stall into Singapore's most recognized snack chain, officially receiving halal certification from MUIS on January 7, 2005.
Every Old Chang Kee curry puff contains their signature blend of zesty curried potatoes, succulent bite-sized chicken chunks, and slices of boiled egg, mixed with a perfect combination of herbs and spices that has remained consistent for decades. Beyond their legendary curry puffs (rebranded as Curry'O in 2008), the menu includes Singapore chicken curry, nasi lemak, Singapore laksa, and various local snacks that celebrate Singapore's diverse culinary heritage.
With over 100 retail outlets worldwide including 80+ locations across Singapore and international presence in Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the United Kingdom, Old Chang Kee sells more than 40,000 curry puffs daily. The company has earned prestigious recognition including the SPBA Distinctive Brand Awards 2005, Singapore Brand Award Heritage Award 2005, and selection by U.S. Travel & Leisure Magazine as one of the world's 20 best fast food chains in 2012 - the only Singapore brand to receive this honor.

An aunty with spectacles, surnamed Hew, served me on 30th August at 2:20 pm. She was wearing a mask and spoke too softly, making it difficult to understand her during checkout. Instead of repeating herself or speaking louder, she rolled her eyes and showed attitude, expecting me to figure out what she was trying to say. She wasted my time and the time of the queue behind me. This is the worst attitude I've tolerated from any F&B business.

When I first started eating their curry puffs, they were priced at $0.90. Prices have slowly gone up to $2 now, which is quite expensive for a curry puff. I hope they do not increase the price any further, otherwise I won't be buying anymore. Taste-wise, they have maintained a consistent standard throughout the years, with a buttery, fragrant crust and delicious, moist filling. Staff can be a bit impatient and curt during busy hours.

I already knew what I wanted to buy, just two items. As soon as I joined the queue, I was greeted by a sullen face and a rather rude tone, "Ahhhh ya?" It didn't matter, everyone has bad days. I politely informed them I was paying by Paywave. The reply was "Ah, over there." I didn't realize they had already keyed in the price and were ready for payment, so I waited a bit. Suddenly, the lady said, "Hellooo, helloooo." Lol. What am I, Professor X with psychic powers? Customer service, even at OCK, isn't easy; customers can be ridiculous and a bunch of a-holes. But chill... I greeted them and informed them of my mode of payment. They didn't even inform me that they were ready for me to tap on the machine (like any other counter in Singapore). Relax, you're just selling OCK, not Gucci, Prada, Dior, or Balenciaga...

I bought 10 pieces of curry o, and it was very disappointing as the store fried them with reused oil. The taste and smell of the reused oil were very strong and unpleasant. Please look into this issue, as curry o is popular in Singapore. Thank you.

The auntie at the cash counter was rude and dismissive today when I told her the card reader had an error while tapping my card. I could see she wanted to start an argument, but I just kept quiet. I'm just disappointed with her service. Those who want to give a 5-star rating should rethink thrice, trust me.

The price isn't cheap, around $2 for a curry puff. Chicken wings, nuggets, etc., are all more than $2. But it's good for a quick snack. I rate the service 5 stars as most of the staff know how to operate promotions with Grab, Fave, and others. The food turnover is fast, so in terms of quality, I still find it pretty good, though I find the prices are getting pricier. Business peaks in the morning and at knock-off time. The queue can be as long as 10 people. There's no seating area at this Causeway Point branch. I ate too fast and forgot to take pictures.

Quick service, I was out within 5 minutes. The service was rather fast as well. There is only a dine-out option as there is no place to sit down and eat on-site.
