Poor quality squid. It was soggy and disgusting. The mantou promo was such a scam. They did not inform us it was from the day after but falsely advertised it and added condensed milk, thus I cannot get a refund. I will avoid this store because of its poor ethics and quality. It already had a very low rating, but I still tried it to see if it was true... super disappointed.

Incompetent staff. I had a digital voucher that I wanted to use during payment, but the staff just didn't know how to process it! Were they not trained properly, or are they bad at their job? I had to wait around 10 minutes for the incompetent staff to call her superior for help. Turns out, as I knew all along, it was just a simple scanning of the barcode on the digital voucher. So simple! Why weren't they taught this? There were two staff members there before the manager came back. Both were incompetent and clueless. One of them, the Malay lady, basically did her own thing and offered no help at all. They really should have been better at their job.

I don't know if you're really short of staff or what, but your staff, the Malay auntie and all the aunties who work there! You better learn some respect. Yes, I know you are older ladies, but that doesn't mean you can treat us, your customers, so rudely!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't give us your black face! If you are tired enough, then don't work! Stay at home. Oh my, this is not my first time; they all treat me like this! I didn't ask to be treated like I'm buying from an expensive shop or anything, but where are your common senses? No manners, so rude! Learn how to show some respect, aunties, like how you want people to treat you. It's so worst!

Like what others have said, the aunty there is so rude. I brought items costing $8.20 and gave $9. The Malay aunty asked if I had 20 cents. I said I didn't. She replied, '20 cents also don't have, kajiao lah!' Hey, I went there to buy food and paid for it. I didn't go there to take free food or order then refuse to pay. When and why did I 'kajiao' you? I work nearby and will probably have to stop buying there. So sick of their attitude.

Perhaps there are too many branches, but the allure it once had diminishes when one sees oily snacks everywhere. However, there's no denying that deep-fried food can be quite yummy, and they are well-priced enough to be a tempting takeaway. I do give in each time I see freshly fried squid tentacles or a new curry puff flavor.

While Old Chang Kee is traditionally famous and popular for its curry puff, my family and I think that the sesame balls at Old Chang Kee are simply the best, especially the black sesame ball.
