Old Chang Kee has been Singapore's legendary curry puff destination since 1956, when it began as a humble stall in a coffee shop near Rex Cinema on Mackenzie Road, earning the nickname "Rex Curry Puff." Under the visionary leadership of Mr. Han Keen Juan, who acquired the business in 1986, Old Chang Kee transformed from a small corner stall into Singapore's most recognized snack chain, officially receiving halal certification from MUIS on January 7, 2005.

Every Old Chang Kee curry puff contains their signature blend of zesty curried potatoes, succulent bite-sized chicken chunks, and slices of boiled egg, mixed with a perfect combination of herbs and spices that has remained consistent for decades. Very worst curry puff. When the shopkeeper gave me this curry puff, I noticed it was not hot. But it was only 11:30 AM, so I didn't mind. I thought it should be fresh. However, the egg inside had an old, small, very dry yolk. I am pretty sure it was very old. Please don't use old ingredients and spoil the old Chang Kee name.

It's funny why this wonderful place is tagged as a Chinese bakery. That said, OCK has been a great saviour for hungry tummies. The food hasn't changed, and the service is always friendly and efficient, no matter which outlet you visit. At least, in my opinion. I super love the Curry O. You can never go wrong with that. The chicken wings are delightfully tasty – well-cooked, crunchy on the outside and meaty on the inside. Plus, the giant fishball is a favourite with the kids.
