This was terrible service for the third time in a row, and the food is consistently overcooked. The tea was extremely bitter, and they automatically added milk. When I politely said, “Sorry, I asked for no milk, I have an allergy,” they responded with aggression and rudeness. I had to buy tap water for 50 cents because the food was too spicy. I specifically asked for room temperature water, but they deliberately gave it to me boiling hot, like tea. The tea was served with a thin plastic spoon that started to deform from the heat—clearly unsafe, as the plastic began to melt into the drink. The glasses and utensils were stained and dirty, and the tables and chairs were smeared and sticky. They wipe everything down with a foul-smelling, moldy wet cloth. The place feels completely unsanitary. On top of that, the staff’s English is very poor—I’m honestly shocked they’re able to operate a business under these conditions. There was barely any meat in the food—just carbs, bones, fat, and an overwhelming amount of spices. Despite all this, the prices are surprisingly high, which makes the experience even worse. Absolutely horrible place. I’ll never come back; I only went because I was in a rush and too hungry.

Red Ginger has been at IMM for many years, serving Malay food at reasonable prices with consistent quality. The beef is cooked till tender. We spent about $12 per person for our lunch, which included teh-o and kueh. Besides mee-siam and mee-robus, they also serve Chinese-style noodles like hor-fun. You have to queue to order and pay for your food.

The mixed rice, similar to nasi padang, is okay and decent. However, there are other options that are nicer. The chilli portion is limited, even after asking for more. The snack kueh lapis is the star here, which is nice with a good amount of gula melaka. It's always nicer when the place is more generous with chilli and offers better service, making it memorable. The place gets crowded, so it's good to go earlier during lunchtime.

Visited on 12/1/25. The store is quite cramped. I ordered the mee siam with otah. It wasn't hot, so I asked the manager (the man in black) to heat it up. He said there's no microwave. He mentioned the mee siam sauce was heated, so there shouldn't be an issue. The Chinese auntie who prepared the mee siam offered to change it for me. Similarly, the otah was cold. The Malay auntie advised me to ask the manager, and again, they said no microwave. Only the auntie offered to replace it with a newer piece which was slightly warmer. The manager should undergo training; all he knows is to say 'no microwave.' However, I could see a kitchen in the back. The Chinese auntie really saved the day for the store.

Decided to try this place as it's rather well patronised. Popular dishes included their nasi padang and fried noodles. Perhaps I should have followed suit. Instead, I tried the mee rebus. It wasn't the best, for sure. The gravy seemed a tad heavy and not as robust as I expected, but it was competent.

My go-to eatery for nasi padang, mee rebus, and nasi pattaya with coffee and kueh. Had nasi pattaya with kopi-c, and the bill was $12.90. The kueh ran out. The nasi pattaya portion was bigger than the last time I ate, possibly to make customers feel better about the higher pricing. There was a good 15-minute wait as quite a few food delivery riders were collecting orders ahead in the queue, who weren't there when I ordered. It would help if they mentioned an approximate waiting time. The three prawns were of reasonable size. The fried rice was soggy and not fragrant. The sambal chilli was great as usual and helped. I'll be giving this a miss on my next visit. The soggy texture of the fried rice somewhat spoilt what is otherwise a great item on their menu.

Quite a good selection of food. More importantly, the food was really tasty. We particularly loved the laksa - packed with flavour and had the right level of kick. The Nasi Padang section was also great with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Premium meat (beef and seafood cost only 40 cents extra). The staff is very happy to give you a generous serving of sauces. The chilli that accompanied it was so fragrant. Overall, an absolutely great meal and the prices are very reasonable. The shop can be quite crowded during meal times, so be prepared to wait for seats or opt for takeaway.

The restaurant is clean and the taste is amazing. The staff was friendly and recommended their famous dishes. I ordered the nasi lemak rice with stingray fish and garlic vegetables. The gravy was slightly spicy. My mum ordered the briyani rice with curry chicken and tofu vegetables. Her curry chicken was on the sweeter side. Overall, we spent about $18 for two people, which is quite worth it considering the huge portions.
