This was terrible service for the third time in a row, and the food is consistently overcooked. The tea was extremely bitter, and they automatically added milk. When I politely said, “Sorry, I asked for no milk, I have an allergy,” they responded with aggression and rudeness. I had to buy tap water for 50 cents because the food was too spicy. I specifically asked for room temperature water, but they deliberately gave it to me boiling hot, like tea. The tea was served with a thin plastic spoon that started to deform from the heat—clearly unsafe, as the plastic began to melt into the drink.
The glasses and utensils were stained and dirty, and the tables and chairs were smeared and sticky. They wipe everything down with a foul-smelling, moldy wet cloth. The place feels completely unsanitary. On top of that, the staff’s English is very poor—I’m honestly shocked they’re able to operate a business under these conditions.
There was barely any meat in the food—just carbs, bones, fat, and an overwhelming amount of spices. Despite all this, the prices are surprisingly high, which makes the experience even worse. Absolutely horrible place. I’ll never come back; I only went because I was in a rush and too hungry.

Red Ginger has been at IMM for many years, serving Malay food at reasonable prices with consistent quality. The beef is cooked till tender. We spent about $12 per person for our lunch, which included teh-o and kueh. Besides mee-siam and mee-robus, they also serve Chinese-style noodles like hor-fun.
You have to queue to order and pay for your food.

Decided to try this place as it's rather well patronised. Popular dishes included their nasi padang and fried noodles. Perhaps I should have followed suit. Instead, I tried the mee rebus. It wasn't the best, for sure. The gravy seemed a tad heavy and not as robust as I expected, but it was competent.

There are many food choices. The taste is just okay. I bought soto and mee soto with begedil. The begedil was not fresh. The Teh C we ordered was too sweet, even after we asked them to reduce the sugar. Plenty of seats and ample parking area.

It has been years since I visited Red Ginger at IMM. I'm glad they survived the pandemic. This outlet is on level 1 at IMM and serves reasonably good Nasi Padang. Customer service is average, but hey, this isn't a Michelin-style restaurant, so I can cut them some slack. I had the rice with bagedil, chicken wing, cereal fish, and fish cake with curry sauce. The quality is decent, and the chili is good. I had the kopi, and it was nothing spectacular. One setback is that it is rather pricey, which may explain why there might be higher expectations for the food. It's a good place for a meal at reasonably pricey rates. Nevertheless, give them a try for the food.
