Don't patronize this shop. Their Swiss roll is a scam. They intentionally position their Swiss roll so that the half with cream is facing you. When you get it home, you'll discover that the other half of the Swiss roll has no cream.

On June 3rd, 2024, at noon, at the Swee Heng 1989 Classic Tampines Mall Basement branch, I purchased a cake. The female staff member did not honor the Passion Card discount, even when I presented my card along with my payment. She proceeded to comment that the discount was only minimal and then ignored me to serve the next customer, instead of rectifying the discount issue. The female staff member was not even apologetic – a VERY negative experience. There are other confectionaries elsewhere where I can get a better experience.

I bought 2 buns for S$4.20. I prepared a $2 note, two $1 coins, and twenty cents. After I handed the exact amount to the cashier, she turned back and showed me only $3.20 (one dollar coin missing) in her hand. I told her there were two $1 coins and she might have dropped one. But she just refused to check and insisted I only gave her $3.20. I was totally disappointed and dug through all my coins to make another $1. This time, she couldn't even tally the figure correctly. My goodness, I could give you $5.20 if you say so, but please don't accuse me of shortchanging. Totally disappointed by the whole incident. I will consider patronizing Swee Heng at OTH if I see that cashier again.

Review for Swee Heng @ Tampines Hub. I bought 3 breads amounting to $5.50 and gave the cashier $7. She took out a calculator to calculate the change to return me. After taking my change and taking just one small step away from the cashier, I opened my hand to see the coins. I realized I received $1.40 instead of $1.50. Immediately, I told the cashier the change was short by 10 cents. She responded with 'huh' and started searching in a small black pouch on the cash register. I wasn't sure if she was looking for a 10-cent coin or the receipt, so I repeated that my purchases were $5.50 and I gave her $7, meaning the change should be $1.50, not $1.40. I mentioned it was okay if she didn't have a 10-cent coin, I was just highlighting the discrepancy. The cashier then replied, 'I think your purchases were $5.60, right?' I told her no, it was $5.50, but she argued back, insisting it was $5.60. I didn't want to argue over 10 cents, so I just said it was okay and walked off. As I walked past the bread shelves, I checked the prices and indeed, my items added up to $5.50. I just wanted to share with everyone: please check the change you receive before walking away from the cashier, even if it's just one tiny step. Otherwise, the cashier might claim it's your fault or tell you your items totaled a different amount. I should have known something wasn't right when she took out a calculator to calculate the change she needed to return me. ♀️
