I had purchased a cake for my son's 2nd birthday for a small home celebration. It turned out to be disappointing as there was a human hair in the cake, which very upsettingly disrupted our celebration. I never expected this from this brand. I wanted to share a picture but was unable to do so. Hence, I've shared it separately.

I am giving one star because I am a bread fanatic and I can tell you Swee Heng is one of my top few favourite bakeries in SG. Otherwise, I would have given zero stars due to the extremely bad attitude of all the staff in the shop. My mother bought a customized cake on 24 Apr, 1pm, and none of the three staff bothered to answer her queries. They completely ignored her presence.
I'm not looking for extremely top-notch service, but I hope basic manners are not too high an expectation.
This outlet is recommended for anyone who wants to pay to experience bad service.

Can the tall and slim aunty please stop banging the bread cover and throwing trays? Every morning I go to buy bread, I hear her banging. If she's so unhappy, can she just stay at home and relax? Good food, but with this type of staff, I'd rather buy from 4 Leaves, which is at the same level.

One of the better batters around – strong pandan flavour, thick and chewy waffles with a generous dollop of peanut butter. (The cheese wasn’t great, just a single slice, but don’t let that stop you if that’s what you want). However, if you’re looking for crispy waffles, this isn’t it.

We passed by The Poiz Centre at Potong Pasir MRT station a while ago and bought some Tau Sar Piah from Swee Heng bakery here. I remember Swee Heng bakery is an established brand from ages ago. The traditional flaky skin pastry (Tau Sar Piah) was delicious. The 'piah' (饼) has an authentic retro taste to it. Service was friendly and efficient.

Their breads are among the best around. Price-wise, they are a little expensive, but you get what you pay for. I particularly like the pumpkin yam mochi bread. Their staff are friendly too.
