There was a dog event happening, so we brought our dogs along and decided to have lunch at Swensen’s. As we approached, the manager clearly saw us but acted as if we were invisible. Eventually, the manager came over and said, “No pets allowed.” We said we’d leave the dogs outside the premises, but it was still a no. I asked, “Then what do you want us to do?” He/she (I'm still not sure how to address this person) said we might pet our dogs while dining, and I assured him/her we wouldn’t. I even offered to push the dogs further away from the table to avoid any issue. Still, it was a no. Then I suggested tying the dogs near a pillar, easily 10–15 steps away and clearly out of the restaurant area. I literally couldn’t reach them from where we were dining. Still, we got a no. At this point, my husband had enough. He asked for the manager’s name (FARAH) and said we’d just lodge a complaint. Honestly, the spot we were placing the dogs wasn’t even within their premises, so what was the issue? And guess what? Later in the evening, we walked past again and saw someone else dining with her dogs outside the premises, petting her dogs while waiting for food. So… do rules only apply to us? ‍♀️

Service was really poor. When we arrived, we stood outside for about 5 minutes even though there were available seats. No one acknowledged us. When a staff member finally came over, we requested to sit in the air-conditioned area — we could see that the table just needed a quick cleanup. But instead of a quick wait, we were left standing outside for another 15 minutes while two staff members very slowly cleaned the table. When we were finally seated, the table was still wet, and there were water droplets on one side of the sofa. It was a very bad start. Then came the soup — we wanted to request pepper, so we raised our hands multiple times. No one came. Two staff members walked past us, including the manager, and completely ignored us. Later, when our mains arrived, I asked for chilli, pepper, and cheese. The manager only brought chilli and pepper. At that point, I was too tired of their bad service to even chase for the missing item. As for the food — I had the dry laksa. It was okay, edible, but nothing special. Even the lime wasn’t cut, so I had to do it myself. My husband had the crispy chicken chop. It looked huge at first glance, but it was extremely thin. There was barely any meat in the middle — just skin and flour. Super disappointing. I know I can’t expect much from a budget restaurant — their prices are more affordable compared to many other places — but that doesn’t mean they should allow such bad service. Astons, for example, is similarly priced, and yet their service is so much better. Overall, the experience was meh. Definitely not what I expected from Swensen’s. Honestly, I’d rather see Astons take over this space.

Venue: Swensens Plantation Plaza. Disappointed with the food quality. The waffle was overcooked, leaving a strong burnt taste. Unfortunately, the standard doesn't match the pricing expected from a restaurant setting.

We had the laksa pasta. It was quite unpleasant. The pasta itself had no flavour, and the prawns were not fully cooked, appearing almost raw. You can see from my photos that the prawn heads were still grey! I would have preferred the burger without all the nacho cheese drizzled over it. The mushroom soup in the bread bowl was nice – the bread was warm and toasted.

Zero customer service, same as other reviews. We were told we couldn't enter by the side door. If that's not allowed, why wasn't the side door locked or a sign put up to enter only by the main door? The manager asked us to go out and re-enter by the main door, even though the place was quite empty and there was no queue. If you hold a manager title and place more importance on procedure than managing customers, be prepared to lose them. Service is equally important besides the food.

Situated on Level 1 of Plantation Plaza. It was quite crowded on a weekend evening. The waiting time to get into the restaurant was still acceptable as it's quite spacious. The food is good, maintaining the same standard as other Swensen's outlets. I particularly enjoyed the new chicken baguette sandwich. However, the service and serving could be improved. Water was not served initially, and some side dishes were either forgotten or not prepared, requiring us to remind the staff a few times. The food also took a bit longer than usual to arrive. Understanding that this outlet is new, there's definitely room for improvement.

A cosy Swensen's in the heart of Tengah. My server, Zt, was excellent. Managers were walking around checking on people and how they were doing with their orders. Cream of mushroom, hot U.S. fries, and chicken-baked rice were served hot and sequentially within five minutes of ordering during lunch hour. The table was cleaned and cleared promptly. Ice water was served in actual heavy glasses with ice cubes, instead of light green plastic cups like other Swensens.

A very decent Swensen's experience. What stood out was when I was asked if I preferred warm or cold water, and I asked for warm water. The server was sweet enough to politely place the cup of warm water close to me and warn me to be careful of the hot cup. What probably detracted a bit of points was that the staff was resting at the table behind me, and one of the ladies was speaking quite loudly for a while. It's not a big issue, but it might not reflect very well to some customers. The place is nice and clean too.

Our last dine-in at Swensen's was a few years ago at another outlet. We were contemplating where to eat. While browsing the menu, a server (didn't get his name, a young Chinese boy with glasses, likely a student) recommended a few nice dishes that made us want to dine in. The server who took our order was another young Malay boy, Zaky. He was patient and friendly while taking our orders. He was multitasking, handling orders, cashiering, and preparing desserts. He even apologized for sending our dessert a bit later because he was busy with cashiering (which I noticed as we were seated near the cashier). The food was great, still as good as it used to be. Definitely recommend dining in here. It wasn't very crowded, but I can't speak for the weekends.
