Koufu stands as one of Singapore's most established and extensive food court operators, managing over 70 outlets across the island that transform traditional hawker culture into modern, comfortable dining environments. As part of a company that operates 180 outlets of coffee shops and food courts with 12 distinct brands in Singapore and internationally, Koufu has become an integral part of Singapore's accessible dining landscape.
The food courts feature diverse dining options with carefully selected stalls, several of which provide halal-certified meals to cater to Muslim diners and Singapore's multicultural community. While not all stalls within Koufu outlets are halal-certified, the food courts clearly identify halal options, such as the Rasa Seafood and Yong Tau Foo stalls at Jurong West, and Ban Mian & Fish Soup and Chicken Rice stalls at White Sands Pasir Ris.
Koufu operates various food court concepts including Fork & Spoon (their dedicated halal food court), The Gallerie, 1983, and Happy Hawkers, with locations spanning from neighborhood estates to major medical facilities like Singapore General Hospital and Sengkang General Hospital, shopping centers like Thomson Plaza and Velocity at Novena Square, and business districts like Fusionopolis. This extensive network ensures that quality, affordable food court dining with halal options remains accessible to communities throughout Singapore, maintaining the convenience and diversity that defines Singapore's vibrant food court culture.

This morning, 24th June 2025 at 9:05 am, I ordered two black coffees from the drink stall. I was served by a bespectacled elderly lady with curly hair. I told her I wanted the coffee to be taken away in a paper cup, and she replied, "What paper cup?" in a very rude manner. Hot drinks can actually be taken away in either a paper cup or a plastic bag. I had politely asked for a paper cup instead, knowing I would be paying for it anyway. Can the management train their employees to be polite to customers?

The fishball noodle stall's chilli padi soy sauce was full of maggots! When I told the stall aunties, they both kept arguing with me, saying it was chilli flakes. Meanwhile, they kept stirring and stirring, asking me where it was. After I took a photo, zoomed in, and showed them, they finally fell silent. If they can't see, they should wear spectacles!

I ate their spinach fish slices ban mian in the morning. By the afternoon, I was experiencing very bad diarrhoea. I suspect their food is unhygienic, as the staff member did not wash her hands when preparing my order.

Jin Kimchi Express. Honest feedback: the soup base was good, but the mussels were overcooked! When drinking the soup, the overcooked mussel pieces became small and I almost swallowed them. Also, the pork belly meat arrived cold. Hope you can improve on these points.

Management really needs to review the stall vendors and food quality. The mee siam was tasteless and watery—I could cook a better one at home. I also ordered the Ming Xia Jiao, and the filling had no prawn at all, just some paste that tasted really off and unpleasant. To make it worse, the counter staff's attitude was bad. Paying for food like this is honestly disappointing.

We explored the new Koufu at Plantation Plaza and tried the Saba fish (from the Japanese stall, on promotion for $5.90), ban mian, mee siam, and coffee ☕. The saba fish was good, but the rice was dry and the soup lacked flavour. We would return specifically for the saba fish. The dried ban mian ($5) was below average, lacking flavour with just an egg and a little minced meat, making it not worth the price. The stall attendant initially didn't provide soup, and we had to ask for it; the soup itself was tasteless. The mee siam ($4) was average. The server boiled the orange bee hoon and then poured gravy over it. I was unsure if the bee hoon was cooked properly. If it were re-cooked, the seasoning would likely be lost. The kopi c ($1.30) was not bad. We would consider returning to try other dishes like chicken rice, Korean food, and Thai food.

Their food choices are plenty for a neighbourhood food court. I always have their Korean food, Jim Kimchi, for lunch, and the portions they gave were big enough to share for two, offering good value for money. Must try their Kimchi stew; it is very delicious, with pork belly and very, very soft and tender tofu. Remember to download the Koufu app for a 10% food discount upon checking out in the app! You can order in the app without queuing for food, which is so convenient.

Pad Thai was yummy, but with quite a long waiting period
Korean JJM was average, but at least the noodles weren't the instant ramen kind, so enough. Very strong onion smell. Waiting time for the soup was also quite long. The seafood was also quite pathetic (refer to picture for prawn size).
Noodle with dumpling was flavourful enough. Sauerkraut veg fish soup was interesting, not too strong/spicy but nice enough for a meal.
Egg rice. Nothing fantastic about it though. Just eggs over the rice with your choice of topping.

Saw a review about the kimchi stew and tried it myself. It's damn solid! The stew is very flavourful and has a nice kick. The kimchi side was nice and cold, and a good amount too. Quite expensive though at $6.90, but the portion is big, I guess. Also, last time I bought some kimchi noodles from there, it turned out to be Maggi curry noodles, so maybe don't buy the noodles, but definitely try the stew.
