Koufu stands as one of Singapore's most established and extensive food court operators, managing over 70 outlets across the island that transform traditional hawker culture into modern, comfortable dining environments. As part of a company that operates 180 outlets of coffee shops and food courts with 12 distinct brands in Singapore and internationally, Koufu has become an integral part of Singapore's accessible dining landscape.
The food courts feature diverse dining options with carefully selected stalls, several of which provide halal-certified meals to cater to Muslim diners and Singapore's multicultural community. While not all stalls within Koufu outlets are halal-certified, the food courts clearly identify halal options, such as the Rasa Seafood and Yong Tau Foo stalls at Jurong West, and Ban Mian & Fish Soup and Chicken Rice stalls at White Sands Pasir Ris.
Koufu operates various food court concepts including Fork & Spoon (their dedicated halal food court), The Gallerie, 1983, and Happy Hawkers, with locations spanning from neighborhood estates to major medical facilities like Singapore General Hospital and Sengkang General Hospital, shopping centers like Thomson Plaza and Velocity at Novena Square, and business districts like Fusionopolis. This extensive network ensures that quality, affordable food court dining with halal options remains accessible to communities throughout Singapore, maintaining the convenience and diversity that defines Singapore's vibrant food court culture.

The stall selling steamed fish and bak kut teh next to the drink stall doesn't seem to be able to cook rice properly. The first time I ate there, the rice was pure mush. The second time (today), the rice was again too soft and clumpy. It really isn't that hard to just measure your rice:water ratio and fluff up the rice once it's done. Even a child can do that. The bak kut teh ribs were also quite tough and dry.

The Mala hot pot tasted quite good. However, it is overpriced. The you mai cai, beancurd strips, shredded kelp, lotus roots, and bean sprouts are all charged at mushroom prices, not vegetable prices. These charges were not made known at the stall, which isn't quite fair to consumers. As a mala hot pot lover, I frequent similar stores. Usually, I buy about the same variety and quantity, and it normally costs within the range of $11 to $14. At this store, I paid $20.

This dish was a major disappointment. The noodles were bland and overcooked, the dumplings lacked flavor, and the overall taste was unappetizing. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

I was ordering bazhang and zuigui at the store. No one attended to me until another male assistant asked what I wanted, then a lady finally attended to me. After she prepared the food, I noticed the chilli bottle was almost empty. Based on past experience, I've had stomachaches after taking their chilli sauce (it tasted sour and funny). I asked the lady to refill the chilli sauce and clean the bottle. I noticed she didn't pour away the leftover chilli inside and just poured the new sauce into the bottle. (Before she poured, I had told her to clean the bottle inside, but she didn't seem to care.) After she finished pouring the chilli, I told her there were stains inside that required washing, but she insisted it wasn't their protocol to do so. I was astonished; so the sour taste wasn't coming from anywhere but just kept refilling without washing. I'm not sure if this could lead to food hygiene issues. Even though I've taken level 3 of food safety, I understand that this is not right, and the chilli could be left there for weeks. I clarified with her, but she gave a 'don't care' attitude.

How can one scoop of anchovies with peanuts warrant a $2 price tag? Wake up your ideas, Nasi Padang store! It's not like you actually "made effort for preparation." They are already pre-made when purchased. Ridiculous pricing point.

This Koufu is clean, spacious, and has clean air. I especially recommend the "Braised Duck Rice" stall, particularly when served by the two nice ladies (I believe they are not local). They are very polite. This stall's food remains my favourite. Recommended dishes include Kway chap and duck. The chilli sauce is also very nice. Yummy.

A sparkling clean place in an air-conditioned environment. The interior decor is lovely, and there are many food stalls. The cleaning crew are cheerful and courteous. The minced pork mee pok is decent and is my favourite go-to.

Ang Lay Kheng had Saba fish at Kofu, Buangkok Square. The Saba fish was served on a hot plate with rice and miso soup. The place is quiet. Hopefully, the crowd will come.

The Buangkok 991 branch met with this young cashier who had a great aura, was full of positive vibes, and was cheerful and enthusiastic on Saturday morning, September 6, 2025, as early as 8 am. Though slightly busy, he served with smiling eyes (wearing a mask), making our day pleasant.
