I just had an 8.25 iced matcha latte that tasted nothing like matcha, only unpleasant sweetness and ice. I took 1-2 sips and asked for extra ice. I waited for the ice to melt, and after 2-3 more sips, it didn’t help. Each sip tasted like sugary milk. I am really sad that my morning is ruined. I couldn’t take any more sips. Now, thinking back, I should have asked for a refund, as I didn’t even drink a quarter of what I ordered.
I needed something else to clear the unpleasant sweetness from my mouth, so I went to the counter and ordered an oat milk latte. I also gave feedback about the almost untouched matcha latte. The staff kindly explained that I could have added more water or ice, not knowing I had already done so. There were no words offered to consider improving the recipe or anything that could make the experience better.
In the end, I paid for this other oat milk latte. My morning was ruined with a bad matcha, and I spent more than I had planned.
