Alley Wei operates within the vibrant Makan Town food area of Northpoint City at 930 Yishun Ave 2, #B1-151 (South Wing), bringing authentic halal-certified Taiwanese street food to Singapore's northern region. This restaurant serves as a cultural bridge, offering traditional and freshly made Taiwanese and Chinese street food favorites that have been adapted to meet halal dietary requirements without compromising on authenticity. The establishment operates daily from 11am to 9pm, providing consistent access to comfort food for the diverse Yishun community.
The menu showcases a comprehensive selection of Taiwanese specialties including silky beancurd with peanut or soymilk options, savory beef beancurd, pan-fried and steamed dumplings, and hearty beef noodles. Popular items include their sesame chicken noodles (.80), pan-fried chicken pau (.50/3pcs), and pan-fried dumplings (.80/6pcs), alongside traditional beverages like soybean milk and almond soybean milk. The restaurant also serves scallion pancakes, youtiao (fried dough sticks), and various noodle soups that capture the essence of Taiwan's bustling night market culture.
While customer reviews are mixed, with some praising the beef noodles as "good standard" and appreciating the authentic beancurd and soya milk offerings, Alley Wei represents an important addition to Singapore's halal dining scene by making Taiwanese cuisine accessible to Muslim diners. The restaurant also operates another location at Tampines Mall, indicating their growth within Singapore's competitive food landscape. As part of a larger F&B group that includes Express Teppan-yaki outlets, Alley Wei demonstrates the increasing demand for diverse halal international cuisine options in Singapore's suburban shopping centers.

Hot Sweet Beancurd. The design and layout are good. Hope the customer service learns to greet customers. Good blend of vibes. They've done another renovation and shifting.

The sweetness and proportion are well-balanced, making the soybean and chinchau (cold) taste really great. The hot beancurd, however, lacked flavor.
After placing our order, we received a buzzer and would self-collect from their service counter. The chicken pancake and red bean pancake are made to order, so they were still hot when collected. However, the frying oil taste was heavy, and the filling could have been more generous.
The noodles were not stirred thoroughly during cooking, resulting in a large clump of undercooked portion. Taste-wise, it was still okay (we ordered beef soup noodles without meat).

Was supposed to go to another newly opening eatery, but it was nowhere to be seen. Luckily, I passed by this Taiwanese cuisine place. Great to order their soy milk; I've been craving it. As for the pancake with egg, it was tasty but not crispy, and very thinly made.

On 10 August 2025 at 3:49 pm, I dined at your Tampines Mall outlet and ordered soymilk beancurd with youtiao at 3:32 pm. The food was served within minutes, but the youtiao was cold.
I approached the staff member stationed near the kitchen, who handles food for customers, and politely raised the issue. She dismissed my concern by stating that I had already eaten it. She then informed another staff member—a Chinese national lady wearing glasses, who was working inside the kitchen—who casually remarked that the youtiao had been left in front of the fan.
No apology was offered, and no attempt was made to resolve the matter. Both staff members treated it lightly, even laughing it off. This shows a clear lack of professionalism, disregard for food quality, and indifference towards customer feedback.
As I was leaving, I relayed the matter to the counter staff. I was told that the correct action should have been to warm up the youtiao, confirming that proper procedure was ignored.
I am a repeat customer at this outlet and have visited multiple times. I am fully aware that the youtiao has always been served warm on previous visits, which makes this lapse in quality even more disappointing. This restaurant prominently features beancurd, soy milk, and youtiao as its signature offerings, yet even this signature item was served below standard.
This incident is unacceptable. I expect immediate action to address the conduct of the staff involved, ensure proper food-handling procedures are followed, and maintain the quality expected of your brand’s signature dishes.

We've tried their food at the Northpoint branch before, and as always, the quality remains consistent. The frontline staff, mostly seniors, are friendly and hardworking, which adds to the positive experience. We ordered the beef noodle soup; though the broth looked clear, it was packed with flavor from the fresh vegetables and rich beef stock. Overall, we really enjoyed the meal and will definitely return.

A friend brought me here for beef noodles, and I was puzzled to find white radish and carrots in them. I wondered what kind of strange combination that was. Later, after reading other reviews, I realized this is a Taiwanese-style restaurant. However, the scallion pancake still seems a bit like Northwestern style.
This restaurant has a Google rating of only 2.9, mainly due to its high prices. If diners only order beef noodles or pancakes, they shouldn't feel that way. Also, the taste is quite acceptable, though not as delicious as Lanzhou-style noodles. But as a canteen for regular visits, I think the seasoning is acceptable.
I read other reviews mentioning poor service and crowds. I went to eat after 9 pm and didn't encounter a crowded situation. It's just an eatable canteen.

Thumbs up for the food we had!
Hala Chinese cuisine, located right beside the escalator from B1 up to L1. It's a very chilled and laid-back area that you might miss if you don't look left before heading up to Level 1.
Let's dive in!
Food:
What could go wrong with meat? Nothing, especially when the broth is yummy-licious. I can't really explain it in words, but we can definitely say it's very yummy and best paired with something spicy.
Service:
The food was prepared very fast, under 5 minutes from ordering to ready. So yeah, we were glad we didn't have to wait long because we needed a quick meal.
Atmosphere:
Despite being in Tampines Mall, time kind of slowed down in this area. Try it and you'll understand. It's very comforting to know that there are still such places for us to unwind.
All in all, a great place to go to, especially if you haven't tried it yet. A definite recommended makan place!! We actually wanted more, but let's save it for other times la eh
Cheers!

Surprising to see not many customers here on a Sunday. Anyway, we walked in easily and ordered our food. They don't serve pork as they are halal. We had the pancake with egg which was tasty, although not crispy. The chicken soup noodle was normal, the steamed dumplings tasted quite nice, and a bowl of bean curd with grass jelly didn't taste as great. Overall, the meal was normal.

Someone mentioned imagining having the beef noodles in Taiwan during winter, and how heavenly it would be. Right now, it's the rainy season in Tampines, and it seems to fit the bill perfectly. The beef noodles had a very clear broth with light seasoning, and it was a delight. However, for dining in, you should queue at the side of the shop (right in front of the pet shop) to be assigned a table by a super-efficient, fast-working 79-year-old uncle and his team. With friendly smiles, they clear tables efficiently and indirectly hint to patrons to move on if they're done, as seating is limited. They were very friendly and made it their mission to clear the queues! You can proceed with ordering after securing seats, and the food will be served in less than 5 minutes (for my multiple orders). The cashier was polite and repeated orders clearly. The beef noodles were a delight, and I washed them down with the clean-tasting warm soy milk. The chicken pancake was crispy and nice. The beef dumplings with soup weren't really nice; the broth was quite heavy. I'd return to try other items. Yes, it is pricey, as it's in a mall and halal. I'm sure there are less pricey non-halal options, so you might want to skip this if you're looking for something cheaper, as it might not meet your expectations.
