Ayam Penyet President has been serving authentic Indonesian cuisine as Singapore's premier Indonesian heritage restaurant since 2009, earning recognition as the "#1 Delicious Authentic Indonesian food in Singapore." This halal-certified restaurant chain operates 10 branches across Singapore, specializing in traditional Indonesian dishes that preserve the authentic flavors of Indonesian culinary heritage.
The restaurant's signature dish is Ayam Penyet at S.50 - crispy fried chicken that's tender on the inside, served with distinctive spicy sambal, tofu, tempeh, and vegetables that deliver an authentic Indonesian dining experience. Their menu also features the award-winning Beef Rendang at S.50, voted as the number one dish in the "World's 50 Most Delicious Foods (Readers' Pick)" list in 2011, alongside other specialties like Grilled Boneless Milk Fish and various "penyet" dishes including Ikan Penyet and Lele Penyet.
With convenient locations including Lucky Plaza on Orchard Road, Century Square in Tampines, Djitsun Mall Bedok, and Grantral Mall Clementi, Ayam Penyet President makes authentic Indonesian flavors accessible throughout Singapore. The restaurant offers multiple ordering options through their physical stores, Grab, Foodpanda, and other delivery platforms, ensuring customers can enjoy their crispy Ayam Penyet with spicy sambal and authentic Indonesian sides wherever they are.

Firstly, they missed our fried tofu order, and we had to order it again. Then, we bought two ayam penyet and were charged $13.90 instead of $11.60. When I pointed out the mistake upon collection, I was shouted at. They claimed I received chicken with tofu and tempeh instead of just chicken (the cashier never asked if I wanted tofu and tempeh) and that I had to return the tofu and tempeh to get a refund. So I did. The store assistant dropped the boxes on the floor, picked up the chicken, and put it in another box. This same person then slapped the counter very loudly and said the refund was made to our credit card (we checked on the spot and it hadn't been). They finally refunded us in cash. If you enjoy being intimidated by unethical vendors while still having to pay for (unhygienic) food, come here.

I ordered through FoodPanda with an instruction specifying I wanted Fried Tilapia instead of Grilled Tilapia, as I didn't want the spicy black sauce for my daughter. However, it still came with the black sauce, so now my daughter can't eat it. I'll have to wait until I finish my meal before I can buy something for her.

Rating: I won't buy even if you drag me there.
Ordered Ayam Penyet as the store is called "Ayam Penyet President" and there are a number of branches across Singapore. First-time. And last.
Ayam Penyet is $6.90, add $1 for the rice = $7.90.
Instant regret the moment I saw what's inside (see photo).
Eating it is even more of an ordeal. I'm not sure why the tofu has a bit of a weird taste. The chicken is soft but dry, the fried bean item and rice are okay, and the fried "sprinkles"... I think Long John Silver's give more of those... and better.
In short, I'm not sure if I want to eat Ayam Penyet anytime soon; this meal scared me terribly. And I'll make sure to take note of other branches in the future. Gotta run while I can :p

Ayam Penyet with chicken breast? Worst, u cannot choose and its by luck you get a thigh or a breast.
Ayam Penyet with chicken breast? That's the worst. You cannot choose, and it's by luck whether you get a thigh or a breast. I am not paying for this anymore.

This branch is the worst. I'm a regular Grab user, yet the staff consistently fail to include belachan with my two sets of orders. They always argue with Grab delivery riders to withhold it. I've read reviews stating this branch's boss is incredibly stingy and controls all food condiments. Cutting corners to affect our food quality is unacceptable. Ban this outlet at all costs!

There isn't any cashier here. Even when you go to the outlet, you must order through QR at the door. I didn't get any notification when my order was ready. Perhaps it would be better to add this feature, at least I wouldn't have waited for nothing in front. The price for delivery isn't much different compared to the outlet. The chicken was good and crispy, but the crispiness doesn't last after a few hours. Good thing the chili was separated. I ordered for my kids and didn't have any remarks to key in on Foodpanda.
