Ayam Penyet President has been serving authentic Indonesian cuisine as Singapore's premier Indonesian heritage restaurant since 2009, earning recognition as the "#1 Delicious Authentic Indonesian food in Singapore." This halal-certified restaurant chain operates 10 branches across Singapore, specializing in traditional Indonesian dishes that preserve the authentic flavors of Indonesian culinary heritage.
The restaurant's signature dish is Ayam Penyet at S.50 - crispy fried chicken that's tender on the inside, served with distinctive spicy sambal, tofu, tempeh, and vegetables that deliver an authentic Indonesian dining experience. Their menu also features the award-winning Beef Rendang at S.50, voted as the number one dish in the "World's 50 Most Delicious Foods (Readers' Pick)" list in 2011, alongside other specialties like Grilled Boneless Milk Fish and various "penyet" dishes including Ikan Penyet and Lele Penyet.
With convenient locations including Lucky Plaza on Orchard Road, Century Square in Tampines, Djitsun Mall Bedok, and Grantral Mall Clementi, Ayam Penyet President makes authentic Indonesian flavors accessible throughout Singapore. The restaurant offers multiple ordering options through their physical stores, Grab, Foodpanda, and other delivery platforms, ensuring customers can enjoy their crispy Ayam Penyet with spicy sambal and authentic Indonesian sides wherever they are.

Food was exemplary, as usual, and available at Tampines Century Square and other outlets. Service was reasonable and adequate. The spoiler was the lady, probably the owner of this franchise or manager, who deserved an award for the most unfriendly and grumpy service personnel I have had the unfortunate opportunity to endure. She refused to move herself from the chair and table she was occupying at the front, nor did she acknowledge us when we were leaving.

It was 1:30 PM, past lunch hour, and the place wasn't crowded. To my horror, the chicken was not even fully cooked. I had to disregard a large piece of meat. I don't know what the rush in the kitchen was, or maybe the timer spoiled? Either way, it was a very bad experience and I won't go back again.

The beans have been here for a year already, and the taste has changed. It's the same with the chicken; half the meat was already rotten. It was like biting into tofu, not tasty. The important thing is that the yellow, crunchy part is very hard, can't even bite it – harder than a Nokia 3310! Ordered from Foodpanda. This is the first time I've encountered this; normally, it's not like that.

Total damage: SG$32.30 (now SG$25.84 after opening discount, valid till 14 Aug 2022)
Payment: cash, NETS, credit card
Process: You find your seat, order using the order sheet, bring the sheet to the counter to pay, they prepare and serve. You take pictures, eat, and leave.
Taste: Okay
Service: Half self-service, half served. Staff wash hands after cleaning tables before serving food.
Pros: Air-conditioned, decent portion size for rice (better than Ayam Penyet Ria).
Cons: Perhaps a change of chef, the sayur asam was not sour. Everything is disposable except for the fork, spoon, and the wooden plate holding the beef and chicken. The 'giant leg' looked like a normal leg; I can't imagine what a normal leg would look like. The beef was very tough, not advisable for the elderly or very young. Seating is limited and designed more for the central kitchen than for dining in. No more free soup.
Will eat again: Yes

Quite authentic Indonesian fried chicken with rice! The chilli was spicy and went well with the rice. The chicken was crispy yet tender. We ordered by QR code and the food was sent to our table. Service was quite fast on a weekday night.

The Ayam Penyet is crispy on the outside and soft inside. The sambal chili goes very well with the chicken. However, using a disposable plate for dine-in just discounted the taste by 20%, and it's not environmentally friendly.

Sedap! I ordered the oxtail soup, which was fresh, yummy, and delicious with an Indonesian taste. The portion was full of oxtail, and I was very satisfied with the nice service. Off course, I'll repurchase. Tried ordering from Panda too, and it was very good.
