First time trying (02/09/25). Had their Ayam Penyet - Fried Chicken ($9.90). The fried chicken was a little small and dry, but crispy. The sambal chilli was lacking the spicy kick. Also ordered the ice grass jelly ($3.50) and could feel big chunks of grass jelly in the drink. Had better Ayam Penyet elsewhere at a lower price.

I recently dined at Bebek Goreng Pak Ndut Singapore, curious to see how this Indonesian favourite translated abroad. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the oxtail soup – rich, hearty, and comforting, it was on par with what I've enjoyed back in Indonesia. The flavours were well-balanced, and the meat was beautifully tender.
As for the main stars, the bebek goreng and ayam goreng, both arrived with a satisfyingly crispy exterior. However, they leaned a little dry on the inside, which detracted from the overall enjoyment. Also, the portion sizes for both the duck and chicken were smaller than the usual chicken portion sizes we get for Indonesian dishes in food courts.
That said, the pricing here is quite reasonable, and that alone makes up for some of the minor shortcomings. If you're craving a taste of Indonesian cuisine in Singapore without breaking the bank, this spot is still worth a visit. I'd return just for that oxtail soup alone.

Regrettably, the fried chicken in the Ayam Penyet was inedible, though the grilled chicken set was okay. Good selection of chili with a real spice kick, but unfortunately, I will not be back.

The fried duck here is decent—crispy on the outside. The sambal adds a nice kick, and I appreciate that they offer five spice levels. The tofu and tempeh on the side were a good touch, but overall, it was just an okay experience. I also had Ayam penyet, oxtail soup, and Kang Kong belachan. Worth trying if you’re nearby, but not something I’d go out of my way for.

Service staff were nice and attentive. The atmosphere was fine for me. They don’t serve water, FYI. Okay, let's get to the most important thing: the food.
I had the original crispy fried duck and the tahu telur, and both weren’t great, in my opinion.
The duck was very dry and not particularly tasty, as it was so dry and overcooked. The tahu telur sauce, on the other hand, had too strong a dark sauce taste and lacked sufficient sweetness for me. The texture of the egg in the tahu telur wasn’t as good as others I have had.
The sambals and the chili were nice. I had the spiciest level, the original chili, which wasn’t spicy for me, but that’s not important as the duck was what I came for, and I found it below average. Not worth the calories for me.

The Bebek Goreng is very good! The duck is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The chilli is super spicy; one box is enough. They gave us 3.

We first stopped by the Westgate outlet and found it quite interesting. I had tried Ayam Penyet before but not Bebek Goreng, which is fried duck. Both the fried duck and chicken had a nice crisp, though I would have preferred them to be meatier. The accompanying chili sauces were flavorful, with the signature chili delivering a real kick—the heat lingered on my tongue for a while!
