I recently dined at Bebek Goreng Pak Ndut Singapore, curious to see how this Indonesian favourite translated abroad. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the oxtail soup – rich, hearty, and comforting, it was on par with what I've enjoyed back in Indonesia. The flavours were well-balanced, and the meat was beautifully tender.
As for the main stars, the bebek goreng and ayam goreng, both arrived with a satisfyingly crispy exterior. However, they leaned a little dry on the inside, which detracted from the overall enjoyment. Also, the portion sizes for both the duck and chicken were smaller than the usual chicken portion sizes we get for Indonesian dishes in food courts.
That said, the pricing here is quite reasonable, and that alone makes up for some of the minor shortcomings. If you're craving a taste of Indonesian cuisine in Singapore without breaking the bank, this spot is still worth a visit. I'd return just for that oxtail soup alone.

Regrettably, the fried chicken in the Ayam Penyet was inedible, though the grilled chicken set was okay. Good selection of chili with a real spice kick, but unfortunately, I will not be back.
