To be honest, I've given this place two chances, and both times I was left feeling disappointed. My first order was a teriyaki bowl, which was very average compared to the raving reviews here. As I was craving pasta, I decided to try their creamy tomato pasta during a second visit. The pasta was not even al dente. The creamy tomato sauce tasted like a rip-off or a copied version of PastaMania's creamy sauce (which I think tastes better and is priced equally with a side included). I was shocked to discover they charge $1.20 for extra sauce, not 30 or 50 cents. It is really not worth it, and there's no set meal either. Another thing that has put me off a bit is that while other restaurants in the same building are serving their diners with proper ceramic cutlery and bowls, Box Ha pretends to be sustainable by serving even dine-in customers in a normal paper bowl with plastic forks and spoons. Restaurants around are very mindful about ensuring their in-house diners are not fed in takeaway boxes. I feel like Box Ha takes a lazy, shortcut approach with very exorbitant pricing for something that can be found at a food court for less and with better quality. I will not return after this trial.

Tried the Black Pepper Baked Cheesy Chicken Risotto. A mouthful for a name, but it was nice. The top was blowtorched, and the fragrant smell of burnt cheese wafted in the air as you collected your meal. The black pepper flavor was mellow and creamy in the rice, and the cheese gave it a thicker texture compared to normal risottos. The chicken provided a bit of chew. Very sinful but oh so delicious. It will definitely leave smaller appetites feeling very gelat. Take the pasta instead if you’re a lighter eater. However, the price leaves a lot to be desired. On the day I ate there, there was an opening promotion giving 20% off all menu items, only then would I find the price good. This review does not factor in temporary discounts. The menu is also freakishly large. If this is the reason for the elevated prices, I would hope they remove the bibimbaps, pizzas, and some of the irrelevant items. Maybe keep the sandwiches. Overall though, I like it. It’s definitely a guilty pleasure, and I hope it does well.

A halal Western eatery in the Hong Leong basement. I tried the garlic fried chicken aglio olio. The aglio base was average, slightly too spicy, and I wished it had more garlic. It wasn't too bad, but not impressive. The chicken was okay too. I will return to try the rice dishes! Returned to try the garlic rice dish with coriander pesto chicken. I enjoyed this dish more! The rice was flavorful with fragrant pesto. I prefer this over the pasta!

Both dishes I sampled were excellent. While the preparation time resulted in a slightly slower service pace, the overall service was excellent. The Laksa salmon pasta, featuring dried laksa, delivered a highly flavourful experience, and the salmon was of above-average quality. The baked cheesy risotto with mushrooms (black pepper flavour) was delightfully delicious, showcasing a strong mushroom taste complemented by a satisfying black pepper kick.

The food is good. The carrots and broccoli are slightly overcooked from steaming; you'll either love it or hate it. The chicken portion is good. The salmon portion is small to okay, but dry due to the small cut. The rice is nice. The sauce is good, not too sweet or overpowering, and the sourness feels healthy. I felt full after eating one portion.

Finally managed to give it a try after passing by the shop a couple of times. It's a great protein option for lunch, with choices like ginger rice and spaghetti for carbs. I love the grilled salmon and carrots. The service is really friendly, and they even give you 20% off for following their Instagram page. My meal came out to $14+ after the discount, which is a superb deal for the amount of food. I'll try out the other dishes on the menu next time. A wholesome local business!

I got the Pepper Chicken Salsa bowl with rice. This was exactly the kind of lunch I'd been looking for for a long time – hearty but not heavy, protein-rich but not fried. The chicken was nice and peppery, with a lovely yuzu tinge in the rice. The mango salsa was incredibly unique, something I've never seen before, and I'm surprised other places don't offer it. It's an amazing way to cut through any richness from the protein and rice, providing a burst of freshness. Service was amazing. The staff were super nice and prepared the bowl within 2-3 minutes. This is a must-have for anyone looking for an office lunch near Raffles.

Rice dishes: Mushroom Salmon and Pepper Beef. Both tasted good. The portion of rice might be a bit small for a guy, perhaps it could be increased. The iced latte tasted more like milk than coffee. The price is slightly above average.
