I had an extremely disappointing experience at the fried items stall at Cantine by Kopitiam, Causeway Point. The fried kway teow I purchased today at 2:30 PM was completely devoid of egg, despite the server insisting it was included. When I pointed this out, she dismissed my concern, claiming the egg was “covered by the dark soy sauce”—a pathetic excuse! She couldn’t be bothered to rectify the issue or even offer a proper explanation. The service was atrocious, and the staff’s attitude was unacceptable. This place is a disgrace! Avoid it at all costs!

The management needs to do something about the water kiosk. There was never a time the queue was short. They should put two people to serve. By the time we head for our food, the food is cold. This issue needs to be addressed! Don't you feel pity for the staff manning the counter all alone?! Do something about this.

Worst green curry and worst Pad Thai I've ever tasted. I couldn't comprehend what I was eating! After just one spoonful, I couldn't force myself to eat another. The curry wasn't like a curry at all; it tasted more like coloured water with corn starch and a curry leaf!! Pad Thai was mediocre too, with a bad stench. I would recommend caution when eating here.

I love Malay food like mee siam, mee rebus, soto ayam, tahu goreng, tahu telok, acar, sambal goreng, begedil, ayam goreng, ayam merah, ayam rendang, sambal petai udang, sambal petai ikan bilis, nasi lemak, satay, and many more. Last but not least, sambal belacan! Chinese food like yong tau foo, char kway teow, chicken rice, laksa, ban mian, and fishball noodles. Even though it's halal, food in this halal food court, or any other halal food court, should ideally be cooked by native Chinese chefs to preserve the authentic taste and essence of Chinese cuisine without pork. The Thai food in this food court also doesn't taste very authentic. Overall, the food here is mediocre and needs further improvement to cater to everyone's palate.

Tried the Nasi Goreng Tomyam from Thai Macik and the Mala Hotpot Noodles – and wow! Both were bursting with flavor, packed with just the right amount of spice, and absolutely worth it. If you're craving something bold and delicious, these dishes won't disappoint!

A Halal version of a canteen (kopitiam), though the one on the top floor in the corner is a bit inconvenient. Food-wise, there are lots of varieties ranging from Malay, Chinese, and Indian. It's quite spacious, and nearby, there's a fun place with arcade machines as well as a cinema.
If you're thinking of trying the French Toast, the bread is only available around 10 am. It's moderately sweet with a tasty egg filling. Opening hours are at 9 am.

I have tried both the mala and tomyum banmian. The mala was overpriced and didn't taste the best for its price. However, the tomyum banmian is next level. It's a comforting meal for only $7, look at the bowl! And this place is fully halal, which is great for us Muslims :)

Cantine by Kopitiam at Causeway Point is one of the most reliable and enjoyable food courts in the North of Singapore, offering a wide and satisfying range of cuisines at affordable prices. Located on Basement 1 of Causeway Point, it serves as a convenient and accessible dining spot for locals, shoppers, students, and families. The food variety is impressive, with stalls featuring halal-certified Malay, Indian, Chinese, Thai, and even Japanese-Korean style meals. From the tender roasted chicken rice to the fragrant nasi padang dishes, crispy prata, comforting yong tau foo, and freshly fried chicken cutlet don, almost every dish I’ve tried has been of consistently good quality. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the ingredients are fresh with high turnover throughout the day. The desserts like chendol and ice kachang, and the beverage stall selections are also solid, and service is reasonably fast. Cleanliness is generally well-maintained with staff actively clearing tables, a tray return system that most patrons actually use, and hand sanitizers near the entrance. Occasionally, the condiment stations could be cleaner, but this is a small issue in an otherwise tidy environment. The staff are mostly courteous, patient, and efficient, even during peak times, and I especially appreciate the ease of cashless payment via NETS, PayLah, or PayNow, which keeps queues moving fast. The ambiance is simple yet modern, with good lighting, a comfortable layout, and a mix of seating options, although it can get noisy and crowded during lunch and dinner rushes, and sometimes difficult to find seats for large groups. The value for money is excellent, with most meals priced between $4.50 and $8.00, and you can even earn loyalty points with the FairPrice Group app, which is a nice bonus. There are also seasonal promotions or special sets now and then, so you can get even more value during festive periods. The overall experience at Cantine by Kopitiam is consistently positive — you get a diverse and affordable menu, relatively fast service, decent hygiene, and a welcoming space that works for both quick solo meals and casual group dining. It may not be a fine-dining experience, but it doesn’t try to be; it succeeds by being dependable, tasty, halal-friendly, and budget-conscious. Whether you’re craving a bowl of laksa, a spicy mutton curry, or just looking for a decent meal during your shopping trip, Cantine by Kopitiam delivers every time. Highly recommended for anyone in the Woodlands area looking for variety, taste, and value in one place.

Went to try out Sedap Wok. Initially, we ordered the seafood BBQ set meal, which is for 2-3 pax. However, the kind staff recommended the 'O' Level set, which includes the same main dish, Tom Yum soup, and durian glutinous rice. It's great value for money! The dishes were not overly spicy, allowing us to taste and enjoy them without burning our tongues. I wanted to try the grilled meat set but couldn't find it on the menu. Thumbs up for the staff uncle and the delicious food!
