Saizeriya brings the warmth of casual Italian dining to Singapore with an impressive network of 30 restaurants that make authentic Italian flavors accessible to everyone. This Japanese-Italian chain has revolutionized the concept of affordable fine dining, offering restaurant-quality Italian cuisine at prices that encourage frequent visits and communal dining experiences.
The comprehensive menu showcases Italian classics reimagined for Asian palates, from creamy Milano Doria Gratin featuring buttery turmeric rice topped with bechamel sauce and pecorino cheese, to traditional pasta dishes priced under $10. Signature items include freshly made focaccia at just $2, bottomless beverages for $2.80, and an array of pizzas, steaks, and grilled selections that deliver exceptional value without compromising on taste.
What distinguishes Saizeriya is their commitment to quality ingredients, including Australian-imported white sauce and Italian olive oil, combined with Japanese attention to detail in preparation and presentation. The restaurants operate from 11:30AM to 10PM daily with a walk-in only policy that maintains the authentic trattoria atmosphere. Located in prime shopping centers like Orchard Gateway, Marina Square, and NEX, Saizeriya has become the go-to destination for students, families, and working professionals seeking satisfying Italian meals in comfortable, contemporary settings.

We had a few viewings in the area and wanted to check out the location, so we decided on lunch at Cantine.
We went with the fish and chips from the Western food stall, and the Taliwang nasi lemak (the chilli is spicy but shiok). Both dishes were okay, though the pricing seems slightly higher for the location.
The place is small and became very crowded at lunchtime, with people standing over you waiting for you to finish – not very pleasant.

The staff are super rude. Firstly, I was trying to look at the tray pushcart to see if the trash bin lookalike could be used to throw trash, and an auntie then shouted saying the bin cannot be used. I was just looking at it to check, there was no need to shout. Secondly, the Chinese auntie cashier was so unwilling to serve. I ordered a canned drink, and she hit the plastic cup and canned drink on the counter, showing her attitude. I know working on the front line with many diners around isn't easy, but at least have some respect for the diners.

Terrible staff attitude, rude and condescending. I bought a cup of coffee from the store and took out a bao I had bought earlier to eat, entirely forgetting that it's a halal establishment. An elderly staff member yelled loudly that I couldn't consume non-halal food there. I apologized and quickly tried to gobble down the food with the coffee. Instead of walking to my table, the counter staff also shouted across the counter. The elderly staff member then asked her if she needed to take a photo... What type of customer service is this? Why are you shaming your customers? Rude and pathetic!!!

Only had ytf here as it's just your typical ytf stall in food courts. Edible and service is quick. Paying with the NTUC app entitles you to a 10% discount, making it quite affordable.
The one thing I cannot stand is when patrons are already doing their due diligence to self-return trays, but one cleaner auntie sits there like she has nothing to do, using her phone, drinking kopi, and people-watching. She doesn't even bother to wipe tables that are wet or dirtied by food (the one with a hairband and apron). The other cleaner was okay, quite proactive, but was busy clearing the self-return rack. It's baffling that she can take trays from the stall to re-wipe them on the table (as seen in the 3rd picture) but cannot wipe the crumbs and clean that particular table. Then she moves to another table to wipe trays. I really cannot understand this.
Also, if you're having breakfast before 9 am, be prepared to feel very warm in here. The plaza management only turns on the air conditioning from 9 am onwards.

I ordered the fish fillet with rice at the western store. Instead of serving me a piece of fillet as shown in the picture, I was only given four small bites of fish. This is very misleading and frankly feels like a scam, especially since I paid $9.90 for it. I will never eat at this western food stall again!

The Malay staff at the drinks store was extremely rude with her tone. I had ordered my drinks and stood closer to the dessert side as the queue was overcrowding the entrance to the washroom. I was questioned by the other staff in a rude tone, “What do you want?” and I told her I was waiting for my drinks.
She then proceeded to tell me, “Then you stay that side lah,” as if to say that my behaviour was uncalled for and had affected her work when there was nobody queuing on her side. This behaviour unfortunately reflects on her poor upbringing and shows that some of the staff here are incapable of emotional regulation.
I am willing to overlook the other bad reviews of this establishment; however, this rude behaviour adds to the unpleasant experience dining here. Staff with good attitudes are really difficult to come by these days.

A food court nestled right in the heart of Canberra Plaza, it's a popular spot for reasonably priced, decent food when you don't feel like paying exorbitant prices elsewhere.
I tried the Malay Chicken Rice store (HALAL). It was lovely, and the portion was quite generous for my liking (which is a good thing). Clearly, inflation has left this place untouched, and I'll definitely be back.
The coffee stall runs a popular set of coffee, eggs, and toast, providing ample competition to the Ya Kun 2 storefronts down the road. Definitely try this place if you're around here.
