The food was really disappointing. We ordered Set 1, their Michelin-winning set. I was appalled at the standard of the food; it ranked lower than a hawker stall nasi lemak. The rice was lumped together and wet, and the chicken meat and skin were dry on the outside, leaving nothing to be desired. I regretted bringing my friend to eat here when he was considering another food option nearby. I tried a similar branch at LPS, and it was heavenly. This branch really needs to improve its food quality significantly to do justice to the brand name. Avoid this branch until they implement proper quality control and assurance.

The price increased, but the staff was stingy with the sambal, which I had requested upon ordering. The staff claimed the sambal portion was already a lot, but it wasn't even half of what I usually get! The rice was also too soft! You can choose not to give it, but as consumers, we can choose too. Tai Wang is not the only stall selling Nasi Lemak! A Nasi Lemak is not a Nasi Lemak without enough sambal chilli! It no longer has the standard.

I am fed up with the service here now. I have been a frequent customer for this shop because the food is good, but I came here two days ago and the service from the Malay lady with spectacles who is in charge of taking orders, and the other Malay lady who is in charge of preparing the food, was poor.
I believe the owner of this shop needs to assess how the Malay lady with spectacles actually provides service to customers. She lacks understanding of customer requests, possibly due to a poor command of English. Because of this, she can't relay the right message to the other Malay lady who prepares the food, and consequently, all food requests are wrong.
I'm sorry to say you can't expect customers to be happy if she can't understand their requests. It's been countless times I've made requests for my food, and she just nods confidently and says "okay!" but in reality, doesn't actually understand what I want.
I return home, open my food, and realize my requests were not met. For example, chili was not put inside, and sometimes the chicken is still raw inside.
I viewed the Google reviews for this shop and came across a handful of customers who also faced similar issues where the Malay lady with spectacles lacks understanding but just says okay without actually knowing what customers want.
Are customers expected to communicate in Malay for them to understand requests? Come on. I'm speaking in very basic English, which is expected of her if she is working in the service line.
In fact, at all the Malay stalls I've visited before, the person taking orders at least has a basic understanding of customer requests, which is the minimum.
I just hope the owner of this shop really trains your staff on understanding customer orders instead of just nodding for the sake of it. It becomes frustrating after a while.
After all, the food is good, but if the service continues to be like this, I will always feel frustrated even when giving my orders to them.
To add on, I believe they know which customers have given feedback before since we are returning customers. As such, every time we return to the shop, they start laughing and gossiping about me, which is so obvious as they have to tell the Malay lady beside their shop, and the Malay lady from the other shop will turn around, look directly at me, and laugh too.
I would urge the owner of this shop to really teach your staff basic service during order-taking, like understanding customer requests and having some professionalism, instead of gossiping and laughing just because customers feedback about their service, which they should improve on.
This reflects very badly on your brand, as your staff doesn't have a growth mindset to improve from feedback. If your staff have to laugh and gossip when we return to the shop, it shows they don't feel they've done anything wrong and just have a scarcity mindset.
I hope this can change massively because the food is actually decent, but the overall experience will be good if the service is better.

Very poor service and understanding. The staff just nodded their heads, seemingly understanding my request, but they didn't. I purchased two separate occasions for my husband, who is a non-spicy eater. I reminded the staff to separate the chili, and they said 'can/okie'. But in the end, they still put chili on the chicken. Please train your staff to be attentive to customer requests instead of just saying 'yes' but failing to deliver.
