Godaime stands as Singapore's first halal-certified maze soba restaurant, revolutionizing the Japanese dining scene for Muslim food enthusiasts. Located at 5 Changi Business Park Central 1 in Changi City Point, this innovative eatery specializes in maze soba, a unique dry ramen style originating from Nagoya, Japan. The restaurant proudly holds halal certification, making authentic Japanese flavors accessible to the Muslim community while maintaining the traditional essence of this beloved Japanese dish.

The culinary concept behind Godaime centers on maze soba, which literally translates to "mixed noodles" - a preparation method that focuses on rich sauces and premium ingredients tossed with perfectly chewy noodles. Their signature offerings include the Aburi Chicken Maze Soba featuring char-grilled chicken pieces topped with an onsen egg, and the indulgent Chicken Cutlet Maze Soba that comes with a generous portion of crispy deep-fried chicken. Each bowl is meticulously crafted to deliver the authentic maze soba experience, with prices remaining affordable under 0, making quality Japanese cuisine accessible to all.

With two strategic locations at Changi City Point and The Centrepoint in Orchard Road, Godaime has established itself as a pioneer in halal Japanese dining in Singapore. The restaurant operates with extended hours, staying open until late night on weekends to accommodate various dining preferences. Their commitment to authenticity, combined with halal certification and reasonable pricing, has made Godaime a go-to destination for those seeking genuine Japanese flavors in a Muslim-friendly environment, successfully bridging the gap between traditional Japanese cuisine and Singapore's diverse culinary landscape.

Tried maze soba for the first time. The noodles were springy but a little tough for me. The don was not bad; the clam was well-seasoned and paired well with the rice. The gyoza was okay, and the fried chicken was quite crispy and well-seasoned.

The new mazesoba restaurant in CCP falls short of expectations, leaving me disappointed with its execution and overall quality. One of the most glaring issues is the preparation of the mazesoba itself. Instead of serving the dish as a dry noodle bowl, as it should be, the noodles arrived with about a third of the bowl filled with water. This diluted the flavors and created an unpleasant texture, making it clear that the chef neglected to properly drain the noodles after cooking. The lack of attention to this basic preparation step significantly detracted from the dish’s intended flavor and consistency. The ramen, another menu offering, was also disappointing. The soup was overly salty, overwhelming the palate. Overall, the quality of this restaurant leaves much to be desired. The inconsistency in preparation and the lack of attention to detail suggest that the kitchen staff needs more training to meet the standards expected of a specialty noodle shop.

It tasted like a Europeanized mazesoba, meaning it lacked spices and flavour. Other restaurants in the same mall with Japanese names served very nice meals comparable to the originals, and I have to admit I was not impressed this time. The people were very nice, and I appreciated that.

The picture of the food on the menu showed the bowl filled to the brim, but the actual portion was only half. The pudding was pathetic. The soup tasted like chicken rice soup. The server mumbled when delivering the food and just placed all the dishes on one side of the table, expecting us to distribute them, even when I had pointed out who ordered what. Service charge, my foot. The air conditioning was non-existent. I should have eaten at the food court upstairs. I will never step foot in here again.

We went for dinner on Wednesday evening, and it was reasonably empty, making it easy to find seats for my family. The food was good, and the customer service was excellent. We requested a bowl of ramen noodles to be cut for our toddlers, and they were promptly prepared to a perfect, spoon-friendly size. Napkins were also replenished without us asking – truly thoughtful service that caters to parents' needs. We had the yum cha and a simpler soup base; both were good.
