Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart achieved a significant milestone in Singapore's halal dessert landscape when it became halal-certified in 2018, making authentic Japanese-style cheese tarts accessible to Muslim consumers for the first time. This bakery chain specializes in creating soft, creamy cheese tarts featuring a blend of three different specialty cheeses piped into crunchy shortcrust pastry bases, offering a unique textural contrast that has made it a popular dessert destination. The halal certification process required careful ingredient selection and preparation method modifications to ensure compliance with Islamic dietary laws while maintaining the authentic taste and quality that made the brand internationally successful.
The signature cheese tarts are available in multiple flavors including original, chocolate, and durian varieties, each priced at S$2.90 per piece or S$14.50 for a box of six with attractive bulk purchase deals. The tarts are designed to be enjoyed at different temperatures - best served warm from the oven but equally delicious when chilled or frozen, providing versatility in consumption preferences. The durian variant has particularly resonated with local tastes, offering a creamy and rich durian flavor that appeals to Southeast Asian palates, while the chocolate and original cheese versions cater to more universal preferences.
With strategic locations at Jurong Point, Parkway Parade, Causeway Point, Changi Airport Terminal 3, and Bugis Junction, Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart has established strong accessibility across Singapore's key shopping and transport hubs. The brand's success in Singapore demonstrates the growing market for premium halal desserts and the importance of halal certification in expanding customer reach. By maintaining authentic Japanese preparation techniques while ensuring halal compliance, Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart has successfully bridged cultural and religious dietary preferences, contributing to Singapore's reputation as a destination where international culinary concepts can thrive while respecting local community needs.

This afternoon, a Malay staff member served me impatiently. I initially overlooked it. I ordered 3 Durian tarts, 1 Brownie, and repeatedly asked for 2 Salted Egg tarts. Tonight, when I ate my share, they were not Salted Egg tarts, which made me angry as I dislike Durian tarts. He served customers with attitude but got my order completely wrong. Looking back, my husband and daughter ate the 3 Durian tarts before I did.

I wanted two boxes (6x2) of original tarts, but they only had three with a fresh tray just out of the oven. I was told to wait for 5 minutes to let them cool a bit. 5 minutes became 10. I finally got 12 tarts packed into two boxes and put into a single plastic bag. I asked for another bag, but was told I needed to pay 10 cents extra! I explained to Calvin that I needed the bag for presenting them as gifts to different people. He still insisted I pay the 10 cents. After my persistent reasoning, he finally decided to hand over the extra bag. 10 cents is nothing as I had just paid more than $30 for the purchase. Customer service needs to look into this.

Their tarts are pretty good, we all know that. But how's their soft serve? Apparently, not so good. Soft serve should be creamy and smooth, not icy inside. Any soft serve ice cream that has an icy, crunchy feel is a fail. It tastes alright though. What a waste.

I was there to buy 6 pieces of tart. The lady on duty around 12:30pm was coldly rude for no reason. It seems like it's her default service mode.

Just bought 3 cheese tarts from the Parkway Parade branch. We didn't go for the buy 5 free 1 promo as we can't finish so many tarts in 2 days. In the end, all 3 of our tarts mixed together, and the liquid cheese inside leaked all over the box/container. My point is, if a customer chooses not to buy 5+1, do they then get crumbled cheese tarts? Doesn't the shop have a better way to package fewer cheese tarts, like just 3?

This was my first time trying the Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tarts, Original Flavored. If not for their 6th Anniversary 1-for-1 promotion, I most probably wouldn't have had the opportunity to enjoy the tart. They were absolutely scrumptious! My strong yearning for the baked cheese tart started after I saw the creamy, yummy cheese flowing out of my colleague's half-eaten tart. When I bought a box of 6 baked cheese tarts, after treating my colleagues, I unwittingly devoured the remaining 3 cheese tarts in less than 5 minutes, and I was in heaven! It was fabulous! As you can see from the photo, all the original flavored Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tarts were sold and gone, all boxed up waiting for their buyers to collect. Yum yum yumz! Will definitely come back again!!!

I'd passed by this shop many times, and the tarts looked so plain and "expensive" at $3.20 and up each. Yesterday, 8/9/2022, after hearing a number of people say it's good, it was my first time trying the cheese tart, and I asked myself, why did I take so long to try it? To my husband and me, it's the best extraordinary tart we have eaten. You can eat it warm (microwaved) or straight from the fridge. When eaten warm, the cheese flows out like a lava cake; if eaten cold, it's more like the usual tart sold everywhere. Fresh and yummy. Expensive? Well worth it because you can tell good ingredients were used and they baked with lots of love. I will try the next popular chocolate next round. When we were there, the staff were all busy (due to 1-for-1) but polite. While queuing, one male staff with a silver cross pendant came to check on the queue and saw a senior lady. He quickly ushered her to get her tarts first instead of letting her line up. Kudos. Well-brought-up young gentleman! We bought a few boxes to give away to friends to let them try such a yummy treat.

Fresh, creamy, and so delightful! Hokkaido cheese tarts never disappoint. The servers consistently pack them securely for takeaway, and a brief reheating at home gets them nice and toasty again. Highly recommend!

I had tried the cheese tarts from the same brand while in Japan and they were outstanding. However, what I was craving on this visit was the Hokkaido soft serve. I would say I'm a bit disappointed and probably scarred for life after having the Cremia and Milkcream Hokkaido milk soft serve ice-cream in Japan. I've been comparing all the places in Singapore to it, and nothing even comes close. My search will continue in the future because even this place doesn't come anywhere near it. I'll probably try out the cheese tarts here, but definitely not the soft serve.

Love the cheese tarts here. The cheese filling is adequately creamy and satisfying without being overtly sweet. The crust is not too oily and buttery. The tarts can also be kept for a long time in the fridge and eaten chilled or microwaved. Good and prompt service. Highly recommended.
