This Chicken Rice Stall should really close down for good. The chicken rice set only came with three pitiful, thinly sliced strips of chicken breast. They call this chicken rice? I also added liver, gizzards, and an egg. The egg wasn't given, but I was still charged for it. No more support for this stall. This is considered cheating!

This coffee shop doesn't accept PayNow or PayWave. They can be used in the morning, but not with her. They have card payment machines and QR codes for PayNow, so why have them if they can't be used? Just take them out then. There's always one particular young, skinny girl with a bad attitude who says 'ONLY CASH' in a loud voice. If you're not happy, don't work here. Why so stressed, Nabei?

Hygiene Complaint, Hair Found in whole pot of Green Bean Dessert at Blk 437 Fernvale Road Kopitiam d
Hygiene Complaint: Hair found in a whole pot of Green Bean Dessert at Blk 437 Fernvale Road Kopitiam dessert stall. On 29/7 yesterday, while consuming a bowl of green bean dessert purchased from the stall, I discovered a long strand of hair on my second scoop. The hair was already in my mouth when I felt it, and I had to pull it out, which made me feel nauseous and almost vomit. This was extremely unhygienic.
I immediately went down to the stall to report the issue. Unfortunately, the younger stallholder on duty gave me a rude and dismissive attitude, completely ignoring my complaint. Instead of addressing the matter seriously, they offered to replace the same pot of green bean dessert, which I rejected as it was the same contaminated pot. When I asked if they could replace it with a clean pot of red bean instead, the younger staff told the senior staff that they couldn't and I should go talk to the office management. They were reluctant to offer me a bowl of red bean soup instead.
Later, the senior lady went to consult the staff in the office. When she returned, she asked me to show her the hair. I showed her the photo I had taken, but she then went to search the bin for evidence, even though the contaminated portion had already been thrown away. Thankfully, I had taken several photos as proof.
Despite the clear evidence and the extremely unhygienic experience, no apology was offered, neither from the young nor the senior lady. The senior staff eventually scooped the replacement dessert without a word of apology, which further highlighted the lack of customer service and accountability.
This experience was not only unhygienic but also very disappointing due to the stallholders’ poor attitude and handling of the situation. I urge the relevant authorities to investigate the hygiene standards of whoever cooked the pot of green bean dessert without wearing a hair cap from the factory. Please take appropriate action to prevent this from happening to other customers. They continued to sell the pot of green beans to other customers, stating that the pot came from the factory.

If I could give zero stars, I definitely would. This economic rice stall is hopeless. I truly hope they close down for good. The staff are rude, portions are small, and it's expensive. Hopefully, the landlord can increase the monthly rental so they can finally close down for good. 😠 😠

Breakfast set. The best way to start the day as always: two eggs, slices of bread with kaya and a thick slice of butter, as well as a cup of coffee.
On a weekday morning, the usual toast bread was out of stock and had to be replaced with normal bread. Sad. They managed to make a normal slice of bread even thinner by cutting it into two slices, then spread kaya and placed butter on. It was really quite thin, but the taste was not bad. Not crispy though, so not sure why they used that thin bread.
The eggs were well, eggs – good stuff, almost perfectly cooked.
The coffee, I got a kopi di lo, meaning coffee all the way (translated directly), so pure coffee without watering it down. It tasted bad and overly watered down. It tasted like coffee, but this is not the kopi di lo standard.

27/5/2024. Came here for lunch. I've tried a few stalls, and today was my first time trying the Bak Chor Mee. It was $4.50 before app discount. Not bad to eat. Can try.

This is a relatively small, open-air Kopitiam (non-air-conditioned) with 10 stalls selling the usual local hawker food (e.g., mixed vegetables rice, zhi char, minced pork noodles, Japanese food, etc.). The prices are only slightly lower than those in air-conditioned Kopitiams. Nevertheless, the Kopitiam does offer budget meals at each stall.

I read the older reviews and thought I should post a current one. I was told that this place had also been renovated.
This place is right beside the Fernvale LRT Station. You can get here by walking through Seletar Mall. Just opposite is the expensive prata shop, Teh Tarik or Bryani.
The food here is actually good. But most importantly, the price is reasonable. For example, the usual breakfast Kaya toast set, complete with 2 eggs and coffee or tea, is $2.8. I tried this and can say that it's much better than many other places selling the same set at a much higher price. Some places sell this for more than $5!
There are also many $3 full meals. You must come and try.
Kudos to the government for creating an eating place like this. I'm really thankful and I hope that every neighbourhood coffee shop adopts this model to ensure that quality food remains affordable to all. Will that happen? Or, is this an exception?

This kopitiam corner serves really nice coffee with a rich, traditional flavour. Payment is super convenient; you can use the FairPrice app, credit card, PayNow, and PayLah. However, only cigarettes and beer are cash only; everything else is cashless friendly.
