Sorry, I have to give a low rating. It should empathize on the menu - light version briyani. I prefer the usual thick, flavorful, dark-colored briyani from many Indian stalls. The rice is indeed fresh and fluffy, but too light in flavor. The chicken is good; it was served hot and juicy inside, and it is boneless so no mess. However, I experienced small, hard crumbs at the edge - not sure why. Price is acceptable for this location.

Had the Chicken Biryani today. The chicken and food were served stone cold. I'm not sure why Muslim (Malay Muslim / Indian Muslim) find it acceptable for food to be served cold. Unheated food is dangerous and prone to contamination and food poisoning. The chicken tasted like a stone: dry, hard, and cold. First and last time.

Makanz is Singapore’s BEST MUTTON BIRYANI. The rice is fragrant and the mutton is simply perfect – it is well done and literally “falling off the bone” mutton pieces simmering in a thick curry full of well-blended secret spices. The curry has “body” and feels “chunky”. Go for it! This is the best mutton biryani, and I say this after eating at dozens of biryani places. Better than Allauddin, Bismillah, and others. For SGD $6 – a plate of biryani served with mutton pieces, curry, salad, and pickle! You can’t get better and tastier than this anywhere.

The fried chicken in the Briyani is an interesting twist from the traditional. Freshly fried, the chicken thigh is crisp and moist. The briyani gravy is a tasty, healthy version with a good balance of spicy yet not oily. Suits those who crave healthy, homemade briyani!
