Unfortunately, we did not see the review! The mala at Changi City Point food court is far better than this. Even the mild option was extremely spicy, and when we asked, they told us this is mild. Note: this is not the first time we are having mala. Aside from that, see the oil – there might be almost 100 ml there. Seriously, I don’t know how someone can cook so irresponsibly with so much oil.

The food pricing is not transparent. If you intend to charge more, please indicate it clearly. When I provided feedback, the cook said, 'Don't care lah, I've been selling for so long and only one person has complained.' There you go. Support this attitude!

Located inside Changi City Mall. This is a Halal certified restaurant. You can order from the menu or choose your own ingredients from the counter to create a mala dish. Do note that there are different prices for different items. You can see the staff separating your items to charge accordingly, unlike normal mala restaurants which charge based on total weight. I did find some items to be too expensive, for example, $2 for a piece of dried seaweed.
My order came up to $15, mostly vegetables with three pieces of seaweed, which cost me $6. This was too expensive for my liking.
Service was alright, though the staff decided to serve another customer first when I was waiting for my food to be weighed. It's very unlikely I will visit again.

This place was overpriced for what it offered, and the food quality didn’t justify the cost. I should have paid more attention to the Google reviews beforehand, as the restaurant was nearly empty even on a Sunday at noon. The portions I received were small compared to what I was charged, which made me feel like some of the items were possibly removed behind the scenes. Additionally, I was surprised to be charged $6 for the soupy mala—far too expensive for what it was. Overall, this was not good value for money, and I don’t plan on returning.

I used to come here often for takeaway, but I recently moved and now order through Deliveroo. Unfortunately, they tend to mess up my orders. This has happened at least 7 or 8 times, with the most recent being my last two orders in a row. I usually order two servings of rice, and about three times out of ten, they forget to give me my second serving. On my second-to-last order, they forgot my beancurd skin (this has happened a handful of times). And for my last order, they forgot my two servings of enoki mushrooms and beancurd skin, so all I received were noodles and taupok . My orders are usually around the $20 range, and I order multiple portions of the same items, so it's not even a complicated order. Having to constantly request refunds from Deliveroo is a hassle. I love the food, but the lack of attention to customers' orders is incredibly disappointing. The photo attached shows credits I received from Deliveroo for all the times I've requested refunds for missing items.

The mala noodles were awesomely nice, with no lingering aftertaste like we usually get with mala dishes. Really enjoyable! The oysters were just 'meh'. Luckily, we only ordered 3 pcs.

There are more ingredient selections here, like beef and chicken slices, and more types of noodles. However, when I came, it was too salty. I might come and try again.

Monster Chilli isn't exactly an "atas" (upscale) restaurant, but it is comfortable enough to dine in. The spacing between the tables is a bit tight if you are plus-sized. However, you'll still have ample space to sit, so no worries.
Service-wise, I would say it's a 9 out of 10. It is prompt, but there is always room for improvement. Let's not be hasty about it, especially since they don't charge service charges or table tax, as some countries call it.
Don't get me wrong, though. Overall, I highly recommend this place for dining.
The ingredients are fresh and of the finest quality, with a wide range to choose from. The Mala soup base is not oily at all, unlike some places. I ordered the mild spicy, and it came out nicely. The spiciness level is just right and not too overpowering, unlike some places where mild spicy causes numbness and sourness in the mouth. Their soup base is purely fragrant from the ingredients added. The only thing is, if you pick long ingredients like tripe or squid, you might want to bring your own scissors.
Enough talk. Do drop by and try it yourself if you are in the Expo area.

I was a bit worried after sitting down and reading some of the Google reviews — there were comments about bad food and even cockroaches crawling on the dishes. I had already ordered, so I waited nervously.
Thankfully, the food arrived in just 15 minutes, which I thought was reasonable, especially since I ordered steamed fish. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised — the food came piping hot, and the fish was very fresh.
I’ve learned that you can’t always trust every review online. I’m not a paid reviewer — just a customer who feels it would be a shame for a perfectly good halal eatery to suffer because of a few dramatic or possibly unfair comments.
I’m attaching a photo to show that I did eat here — and yes, I cleaned up my plate!
As for the claim about cockroaches crawling on the food — come on, if that were true, I’m pretty sure NEA would’ve shut the place down by now.

Ordering is easy. The fish (patin) is very delicious; they fry it a bit before steaming it, which I like. They also have fresh oysters. The fried squid is truly fantastic, and the pickled poached fish with glass noodles is also very tasty. There's no table service as you have to pay first and then collect your own food after it's cooked. The staff are only there to clear tables after customers have finished their meals. There's both indoor and outdoor dining, and ample parking is available.
