Mr Bean stands as Singapore's leading soy-based food and beverage retail chain, established in 1989 with a mission to reconnect life's simple pleasures through fulfilling and inviting food experiences. Originally starting as a humble family bakery serving the local community with traditional confectioneries and bread, the brand has evolved into a comprehensive halal-certified chain with 64 outlets across Singapore. What makes Mr Bean truly special is its commitment to healthy, soy-based products that cater to both sweet and savory preferences, making it a popular destination for health-conscious consumers seeking halal dining options.
The menu at Mr Bean showcases an impressive variety of soy-centric offerings, from their signature Original Recipe pancakes filled with red bean, tuna, chicken mayo, kaya cheese, and innovative seasonal flavors like Gula Melaka and Curry Chicken with Potato. Their wholesome rice bowls feature meat-free alternatives like Japanese Curry and Truffle Mushroom options, while their beverage selection ranges from classic soy milk at $2.50 to exotic drinks like Icy Sea Salt Chendol at $5.20. The brand also offers nutritious rice balls, silky beancurd, grass jelly combinations, and healthy soy granola bars, ensuring there's something for every dietary preference and taste profile.
Mr Bean's recent achievement of complete MUIS halal certification across all outlets represents a significant milestone in Singapore's inclusive dining landscape, making quality soy-based nutrition accessible to the broader Muslim community. The brand's focus on affordability, with most items priced under $6, combined with their commitment to fresh daily preparation and healthy ingredients, positions them as a cornerstone of Singapore's fast-casual dining scene. Their continuous innovation in developing new flavors while maintaining traditional appeal demonstrates their understanding of evolving consumer preferences and their dedication to serving Singapore's diverse culinary landscape.

I went to the Mr Bean Yishun Northpoint outlet around 8+ pm, almost 9 pm, to get myself the Mr Bean ice cream (dairy-free). However, the ice cream was unavailable. The female staff member informed me with very rude service, making no eye contact at all. This is the second time I've experienced this at the Northpoint outlet. I hope the management can address this issue. I checked the opening hours, and they close at 9:30 pm. Is it normal for the staff to switch off the ice cream machine around 8+ pm, before 9 pm?
Look at the pic below, the ice cream amount compared to the cup.

Went to order the peanut pancake (level 1) and was surprised to see my pancake black in color when I reached home. The peanut filling was also different, not the smooth jam peanut I expected. The pancake texture was very hard too. Do not recommend.

The staff, especially the manager on duty at 3pm on Wednesday, August 6th, seemed very rude.
My cup lid had broken, and I was hoping to get a replacement as I was worried about spilling my drink. I understand they can't give out cups randomly, but both an uncle next to me and I were willing to pay for a new lid. My issue wasn't that they couldn't provide one; it was how the manager spoke over me loudly and tried to dismiss me, even pushing my hand away because she was concerned I might spill it on her straws. She apologized as I was leaving, but it felt like a polite way to get me to go away.
Could you please train your staff to have a better attitude?
I went to the Coco Nut Nut store next door, and the lady there gave me a whole new cup and straw, no questions asked. If I had gone to another branch, I'm sure they would have done the same or at least politely declined, as it's not common to ask for a replacement cup from a different store. It's common sense that you can't just get a free cup.

I received my Mr. Bean voucher from the NDP Tickets Collection Event at Great World City on 12/07/2025. I visited the Mr. Bean outlet at Northpoint City North Wing, 1st level, on 15/07/2025 to redeem it. However, the Malay cashier was unable to accept it because she had not been informed by her management about accepting this voucher for NDP 2025, and it was not reflected in her cash register system. I am not saying she was in the wrong; the management should have validated it before distributing it to the public. It was a waste of time to queue and then be unable to redeem the voucher when it was supposed to be accepted.

My favourite item at Mr Bean is the 3-in-1 rice ball. You get the best of three worlds: a soya bean drink, bean curd, and two peanut and two sesame rice balls. And surprisingly, I tried the rice dumpling today, and it was really nice too!

A healthy snack for kids. This is an old brand, and their puffs always meet expectations.
We were approached by passionate staff. We initially wanted to order two puffs, but she told us that getting their value set would be more worthwhile.

Absolutely love their tang yuan, whether it's the normal soya beancurd or with ginger taste. You can have a mix of all the different flavours of tang yuan like sesame, peanuts, and so on. And ask for less sugar to feel less guilt if you are on a diet. Having it piping hot is amazing, especially on cold weather like now. No need to wait for Solstice Day in December to have it. Sometimes when I feel like having something light, this is one of my options. And with all Mr Bean's outlets Halal-certified, we can eat and grow healthy together with all our Muslim friends!
