Ordered a salmon set for dine-in today. I asked the Malay lady at the cashier for a pair of plastic fork and spoon, but was rejected, saying they are only provided for takeaway. The metal fork and spoon were so wet when topped up into the container, so asking for a plastic pair seemed difficult, and her attitude was rude! I haven't had this issue at other stores, except for Pepper Lunch Express at Northpoint!

I would like to share my experience today with a takeaway order. I ordered a beef set without pepper, but when I reached home and sat down to eat, I was very disappointed to find that the beef was overcooked and burnt. It had turned black in some parts.
I usually order takeaway from Pepper Lunch, and it's frustrating to realise only at home that the food is not edible. It felt like a waste of my time and effort to place the order, and also a waste of money as I couldn't even eat the meal.
I hope Pepper Lunch can look into this and ensure better quality control, especially for takeaway orders.

I don't really understand the hype around Pepper Lunch, but this express version seems like a good place to try since it's much cheaper and you can get further discounts with a Kopitiam card. I ordered the salmon dish. While queuing up, I saw them preparing it. It's really just rice in the middle, a few pieces of salmon on the side, and condiments on top. Then I get to bring it back and 'lou hei' (toss) it myself. Maybe that's the whole point(?). Anyway, the portion is quite small.

Haven't had Pepper Lunch for quite a while, and it's still just as popular and good! The queue was long but pretty efficient. I managed to get my order without any hassle as they separated the queues for dine-in and takeaways.
