The lady asked if I needed a knife when I ordered a cake. Clearly, I needed a knife to cut the cake. I'm not sure if she was being sarcastic, but it really ruined the day as it was my grandad's birthday.

I used to regularly frequent Polar at HG mall, but their standards have dropped a lot recently. I bought a chicken pie, but it tasted weird and stale (I ate it on the same day). On another occasion, I bought a Swiss roll, and it was hard (not fluffy at all like it used to be) and also tasted stale. What a pity, as we used to be regulars. Won't be buying anymore :(

I had a bad experience today, 12 Feb 2025, at Polar Puffs and Cakes at Hougang Mall at 12:30 pm. I was using ShopBack to redeem my vouchers, and the staff gave me the wrong code, 1622, which should have been 1624. The redemption was processed, but she refused to give me my sugar roll because the code was incorrect. Her attitude was very bad, and she was not apologetic at all. She behaved as though it was my fault. I had no choice but to redeem one less cake, and yet she still gave me short of another cake. Luckily, I checked it before leaving. Overall, a very bad experience. The service is very, very bad. How can they hire people like this for the service line?

Bought a Black Forest cake from Polar recently, and the taste was subpar. I still prefer cakes from Four Leaves or PrimaDeli.

We ordered a Hello Kitty cake for my daughter's birthday. What I liked was that I ordered on Thursday and was able to collect it on Sunday at 9 am. Hardly any bakeries open that early, so we were glad it fit our birthday lunch party perfectly! An area for improvement was the lack of cake details, such as the weight, type of cream, sponge cake flavour, and any filling. I had to call their HQ to find out all this information because the staff was also unsure. If my daughter hadn't insisted on Hello Kitty, I would have gone to Bengawan Solo instead.

The puffs, especially the otah, vegetable, and chicken ones, are the best. They are made freshly baked.

I usually only eat their veggie puffs. Today, I was redeeming their 5 chicken pies through an e-promo. I came previously, but they were sold out. So, they told me to call in advance. All the ladies were helpful and patient, even changing the box they packed earlier to a new one due to oil stains. Good experience! Thank you!
