Service, as is typical for Singapore, was good enough. The workers quickly acknowledged me and started making my sandwich. Unfortunately, I’m disappointed with the food. If SUBWAY® wants to offer normal options, they need to make certain that they actually have the ingredients. I ordered a spicy Italian sandwich. They didn’t have the cheese bread that they normally have in America. Then they only had beef salami rather than Genoa salami, which is what makes an Italian sandwich what it is. Add to that, they didn’t have provolone cheese. They had mozzarella cheese, which had already been shredded… and I like my sandwich cold rather than heated, so I couldn’t even melt it. I added some slices of ham to the sandwich, but I wasn’t happy with the taste. Normally, I would have loaded that sandwich up with mayonnaise, ranch, and any other special sauce they had, but the only one I wanted was mayonnaise. No banana peppers. No green and red pickled peppers. To make a long story short, my sandwich was a complete disappointment. I tried a second time. I came for a meatball marinara sandwich. No marinara sauce! Are you kidding me? Chip offerings were okay, but there were only regular/Lays chips, and I missed the jalapeño chips that I usually get at home. However, making up for the lack of taste was the soda offerings. They have a Coca-Cola remix machine with two flavors I haven’t seen in America yet: lychee and mango. I must have had several cups of Fanta zero mango, Fanta zero lychee, and Sprite lychee/mango. Atmosphere is a mixed bag. The mall is nice and neat, but the Subway is tucked away at the far corner of this mall. Fortunately, they have flags outside to advertise its existence, because otherwise, you wouldn’t know it was there. There is another Subway not far away in Singapura Plaza, but that one is not nice to eat at because it’s not very private.
