Curry Times represents the expansion of Singapore's beloved Old Chang Kee brand into the full-service restaurant sector, bringing their decades of curry expertise from their famous curry puffs into a comprehensive dining experience. Conceptualized as a halal-certified dine-in restaurant, Curry Times aims to serve "the best curries that one can find" while building upon Old Chang Kee's rich heritage that dates back to 1956. This evolution from snack purveyor to full restaurant demonstrates the brand's deep understanding of Singapore's curry culture and their commitment to serving the Muslim dining community with authentic, quality curry dishes.
Located at strategic venues including Changi Airport Terminal 3 and Westgate shopping mall, Curry Times offers accessibility to both local diners and international travelers seeking authentic Singapore curry experiences. The restaurant's menu celebrates Singapore's diverse curry heritage, incorporating influences from the various ethnic communities that have contributed to the island nation's unique culinary landscape. Each dish reflects the careful balance of spices and flavors that have made Singapore curries distinctive, while maintaining the halal certification that ensures Muslim diners can enjoy these traditional flavors without concern.
Curry Times' success reflects the growing sophistication of Singapore's halal dining scene, where established brands are expanding their offerings to provide comprehensive dining experiences rather than just quick snacks. The restaurant's active social media presence and strategic locations demonstrate their commitment to reaching both traditional customers and new audiences seeking quality halal curry experiences. By leveraging Old Chang Kee's trusted reputation and curry expertise, Curry Times has positioned itself as a reliable destination for authentic Singapore-style curries in a comfortable, family-friendly environment.

I recently visited Curry Times at Westgate, owned by the well-known Old Chang Kee curry puff chain. The restaurant's retro-style ambiance, complete with waitresses dressed in Nanyang-style Chinese samfu, transports diners to a nostalgic era.
In keeping with the theme, we ordered the curry chicken, which can be accompanied by either white rice or soft bread. The curry had a well-balanced flavour, with a harmonious blend of curry spices and the creaminess of coconut milk. Personally, I would have preferred a stronger spice base to make the dish more impactful. The Assam Batang fish fillet was appetizing, featuring a nice, but not too sharp tamarind note. The fish fillet was fresh, though the portion was a bit small.
For shoppers at Westgate or JEM, this place offers a great option for an afternoon kopi or teh break with their famous curry buns. The restaurant also offers a variety of set lunch and dinner options during weekdays, making it convenient for busy professionals and shoppers. The prices are reasonable, especially considering its location in a bustling shopping mall.
Overall, while some aspects could be improved, Curry Times provides a pleasant dining experience with its nostalgic ambiance and comforting dishes. I'm looking forward to returning to try more of their menu offerings.

The menu has 3 vegetarian dishes. The Teriyaki Mock Chicken + Mushroom Noodles was one of them, and it was good, though slightly salty for my taste.
Service could be improved. The lady staff didn't make us feel welcome and insisted we sit together very close to other diners, despite plenty of empty tables and a recent spike in COVID cases. Some social distancing would have been appreciated.

One outstanding highlight of Curry Times is their $1 bun offer at 8 pm. With options like curry, sardine, haebeehiam & coconut,
At such an affordable price, the quality and quantity of the fillings made it an exceptionally worthwhile treat.

Enjoyed the nasi lemak ayam rendang and fried chicken – the rice was fragrant, and the sambal had just the right aroma and spice level. Overall, it was a good food experience. However, we requested a larger table to accommodate our belongings, but we were informed that larger tables are reserved for groups of 3 pax and above. Notably, it was almost closing time, and many larger tables were vacant, which seemed like an opportunity for flexibility. Minor accommodation would enhance the experience.

I used to love coming to Curry Times Westgate and it was always my first choice for lunch or dinner. But this will be the last time. The restaurant only had 4 tables of diners. We were a group of 5 and were assigned to the table nearest to the door. We decided to change seats because the air conditioning was so noisy. However, the staff seemed unhappy and mumbled and grumbled when changing the QR code for ordering meals. When we sat at three tables, she chased us to occupy only two tables meant for 4 pax, even though there weren't many diners at that time. Then why are there three diners sitting at a table meant for 5 pax? Extremely rude customer service by Zastria Lindri. So disappointing.

The Nasi Lemak Satay set was good, although the satay sauce was a bit mild. The black sesame ball was also good, but I felt it was a little pricey at $1.50, not including service tax. The Kopi was normal. Overall, I had a pleasant experience, though the prices could probably be cheaper considering the service tax.

This is one of my preferred halal restaurants whenever I'm hungry for Chinese meals. The ABC soup, sesame chicken, and curry chap chye are yummy, as always. Not to forget their signature curry bun. The restaurant employees are also welcoming and efficient.

Had dinner around 6pm on weekdays; the resto wasn't too busy at that time. We ordered Beef Curry with a choice of Golden Bread, and Chicken Soup with Rice. The food arrived quickly right after we confirmed our order via QR code. The Chicken Soup was nice, flavourful, and refreshing, truly tasting like home-cooked food.
The Beef Curry was so good and tasty. The meat was very tender and effortless to chew. The Golden Bread was nice and still warm, pairing exceptionally well with the curry.
The food portions were decent too. The chicken soup came in a quite large bowl with a quarter of a chicken leg, two big cuts of potatoes, and carrots. The beef curry had quite a lot of beef chunks, two cuts of potatoes, some tomatoes, and pineapple pieces. The bread was also big and filling.
Good portions that can really make us full. For me, the price was worth the portion and the taste.
On another day, I visited this place again and had their Vegetable Curry; it also tasted good and flavourful, served hot too.
Service was okay and the environment is nice. Will come back again and try their other dishes.
