The signature Khao Man Gai showcases the restaurant mastery of Thai-style Hainanese chicken rice, featuring tender, perfectly cooked chicken served with fragrant rice cooked in rich chicken stock and aromatic spices that create distinctive flavors different from traditional Singapore chicken rice. The preparation honors both Hainanese origins and Thai adaptations that have evolved over decades of culinary refinement.

The secret homemade chili sauce represents a crucial element that distinguishes Go-Ang chicken rice from other variations, featuring carefully balanced ingredients that complement rather than overpower the delicate chicken and rice flavors. This signature sauce, developed over decades, provides the authentic taste profile that has made Go-Ang famous throughout Bangkok and now Singapore.

The affordability factor makes Michelin-recognized cuisine accessible to various economic backgrounds, with prices described as very reasonable and often cheaper than some famous local establishments. Customer reviews consistently praise the fragrant rice preparation, tender chicken quality, and surprisingly flavorful soup that exceeds expectations for Thai chicken rice. The authentic taste profiles satisfy both Thai cuisine enthusiasts familiar with Bangkok street food culture and Singapore diners exploring new flavor combinations.

Above average roast chicken rice. The prawn cakes were tasty and had a pleasant, bouncy texture. The Thai chendol tasted pretty bad this time round compared to numerous earlier visits. On another visit, the curry vegetables were good, but the omelette was rather mediocre. Overall, it's still a nice environment to have chicken rice in.

The food is moderate and expensive. Service is slow and not good. Our utensils were dirty, and we waited 30 minutes just for chicken rice. When it was served, only the vegetables arrived, and they were already cold. The vegetables with egg also had eggshells in them. Quite a disappointment.

The food is good and the service team is clearly working hard, but they are seriously understaffed on Sundays. Also, their online ordering system really needs an upgrade. Worth visiting, but not on Sundays unless they add more staff.

We ordered two plates of chicken rice: the roasted and poached versions. Both had the same issue. We requested the thigh portion but were instead given meat nearer to the breast, which was tough and dry. When we enquired with the supervisor/manager, instead of apologising, she offered a string of excuses and claimed it was exactly what we ordered. However, it was quite obvious they had given a completely different portion. It's very dishonest to provide customers with a different portion from what they ordered, and then, when questioned, to lie to avoid responsibility and force customers to accept whatever was given. It's also unfair as we paid for thigh meat, not the tough and dry breast meat.

Extremely bad service. Dishonest establishment. Mediocre food. We ordered two half chickens, but instead of receiving half chickens, we were served two plates consisting of 90% chicken breast. We provided feedback to the manager, and her chosen method of service recovery was to argue her way out. Please look at other reviews; we are apparently not the only ones facing this issue. This seems like dishonest tactics to get rid of their unwanted chicken parts. There's also nothing special about their chicken rice. You can get better and cheaper chicken rice at any other stall.

We visited the restaurant for dinner and were thoroughly impressed by both the food and the overall dining experience. Our meal started with their signature chicken rice, which came with half a chicken—perfectly poached, juicy, and tender, served with aromatic, flavorful rice that had clearly been cooked in rich chicken broth. The accompanying sauces added just the right kick and depth to each bite. Next, we had the sambal kangkong, a classic stir-fried water spinach dish that delivered a bold and spicy punch. The sambal was vibrant, well-balanced, and brought out the natural flavor of the greens without overpowering them. The sweet and sour fish was another standout—lightly battered and fried to a golden crisp, then coated in a tangy sauce that was both appetizing and refreshing. It offered a great contrast of textures and flavors. The cashew chicken brought a delightful mix of sweetness and nuttiness, with tender chicken pieces stir-fried in a savory sauce, paired with crunchy cashews and vegetables. Every bite was rich, balanced, and comforting. To round off the meal, we indulged in their signature Thai cendol. It was a beautiful, cooling dessert served in a generous portion—smooth coconut milk, pandan jelly, red beans, and shaved ice all came together to create a sweet, refreshing end to the dinner. Service throughout the evening was prompt, courteous, and efficient. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, and dishes arrived quickly despite the busy hour. The ambience of the restaurant was warm and inviting, with a comfortable setting that made it ideal for both casual meals and small gatherings. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we’d gladly return to explore more from their menu.

Had lunch with the set for two at $39.90, which consists of fish, plain omelette, two chicken rice servings, one plate of steamed chicken, and baby kailan. Personally, it would be nice if the chicken rice soup was hot and the steamed chicken was still warm; it was rather cold. As such, it's four stars. However, the portion is quite generous for two people.

Awarded the Bib Gourmand—and for good reason. You won’t be disappointed. Chicken rice is a typical meal in Singapore, but this one stands out from the rest. The chicken is tender and flavorful, and the rice is fragrant. Yes, it’s almost double the price compared to hawker stalls, but for the quality, I’d say it’s worth it. Great for those who want to try something familiar yet elevated.

Go-Ang Pratunam Chicken Rice offers surprisingly affordable chicken rice at only around $7 a plate. I ordered a chicken platter to share with a friend, and we also got some ABC soup and a crab cake. The chicken was good, though not amazing. I really loved the ABC soup though; it was very flavorful. The crab cake was also nice to chew on. All of this, plus the surprisingly quick service and the very clean environment, makes me think the Michelin star this place has is well-deserved.

Tried Go-Ang Pratunam Chicken Rice once. The food was fine. However, [personal preference], I prefer my chicken rice chilli to be zesty and spicy. This time, we had the Chicken Rice + Hotpot combo, which after GST was around $47+ after taxes. We felt this was pretty reasonable. We went with Steamed Chicken and the hotpot soup, opting for Clear Tom Yum soup (less spicy). The chicken was okay, with no gamey smell, though there was a fair share of bones. The Tom Yum soup tasted a little salty. However, the ingredients for 2 pax were quite generous, including three prawns, some beef slices, an egg, cabbage, water spinach (kangkong), enoki mushroom, tanghoon (vermicelli glass noodles), squid, and fish pieces (not slices, which is good!). By the time the steamboat arrived, we were almost finishing our chicken rice. I think if you're 3 small to medium eaters, this set will feed you comfortably.
