HK steamfood... not sure of the store name, as I only saw '赢家' (Winner). The packaging looked attractive: one fish, one vegetable, and rice. Honestly, the rice quality is very good, except for the portion size. I ordered steamed seabass, but the fish was very small and cut in half on the top portion, making it seem like a quarter portion. For the vegetable, I chose bean sprouts as the kailan was no longer available; I received a countable string of bean sprouts. The taste is not bad, but the portion size is still underwhelming.

The new fish shop 赢家 beside the zi char stall. The price point is too high for the small portion; they sell 1/4 of a fish but charge almost $10. Taste-wise, it's just normal.

Today I wanted to eat oyster omelette (蚝煎), but I ordered wrongly because my eyes couldn't see the words properly. I also don't understand why they sell two kinds of oyster omelette. I bought the food around 5 pm++. When I reached home, I realised I had ordered the wrong item. Then I went back to the shop to change it. The staff told me the food cannot be changed. I paid $9 to eat eggs and a few pieces of oysters. Very sad and upset.

Visited on 1st Feb 2024 and noticed many stores had changed or closed down, with many empty units. I tried the wanton mee here. I ordered (no.4) cutlet mee dry with added noodles and (no.2) dumpling wanton mee dry, along with 14 pieces of fried wanton mee. Firstly, the sauce wasn't very nice; to me, it was just so-so. I mostly tasted black sauce with no savory taste or smell. As a chef, I know that the dry sauce is the soul of wanton mee. I asked for extra noodles, but the portion didn't seem like half a portion added, more like just a little extra. The noodles were a bit soggy. The fried wantons were just okay. I'm not a picky eater, but the sauce really could be better; the mixture seems wrong. The auntie was friendly and nice. Seeing her working alone and so busy made me want to help her. Maybe I'll try again next time to see if there's any improvement.

Nice food, a small wet market, retail shops, a laundromat, a pawn shop, a telephone shop, and a tailor, all in one place.
As I stay opposite, I come here quite often, regardless of whatever service I might need or food to satisfy my hunger.
Recently renovated, it looks nicer and neater now. Bigger fans provide better ventilation, and tables are more well-spaced.
There are also newly added hawker stalls for better choices and even better quality food.
Fruit stalls are my go-to here as well. They have a large variety of fruits and are not too expensive.

Kitty and I had dinner at Kopitiam Square and decided to order a Milo ice and a teh c kosong tiklo to accompany our meal. The teh c kosong tiklo turned out to be very bland when served, with the drink looking unappealing and having a pale color, indicating a lack of strength in the tea. The coloring of the tea was not as expected, impacting its taste. We suspect that the establishment might be using inferior tea or facing issues with the brewing process, potentially neglecting our order for a strong tea without dilution. This experience raised concerns about the brewing method and attention to customer preferences. However, the Milo Ice was acceptable, leading us to rate this establishment 4 stars.

Pretty spacious during off-peak hours. I only managed to try three stalls as I'm on my way to obesity. Recommend the fried rice if there's no long queue. You can skip the carrot cake as it's meh. For the Muah Chee pancakes, go for it if you have room for more or if you're broke and can't afford a proper meal. Maybe because it was highly raved and my expectations were too high, but it's okay, I guess. Try it for yourself.

New stall opened: Freshly Steamed And Served - The steamed fish set meal allows you to choose any 1 out of 4 side dishes. If you don't like fish head, you can add $1.50 to change for fish tail.
I chose no. 1 - HK Steamed Mangrove Jack set with steamed egg. The gravy of the fish was quite salty, which paired better with rice.
The fish head meat was fresh with no sea smell. However, there were still some fish scales not completely removed, so one needs to eat carefully.
The steamed rice was on the dry side, even with the fish gravy (which wasn't sufficient) to make the rice soft.
The steamed egg portion was small, served in a cup like chawanmushi (Japanese style), just pure smooth steamed egg.
There's still room for improvement!
