Mr Bean stands as Singapore's leading soy-based food and beverage retail chain, established in 1989 with a mission to reconnect life's simple pleasures through fulfilling and inviting food experiences. Originally starting as a humble family bakery serving the local community with traditional confectioneries and bread, the brand has evolved into a comprehensive halal-certified chain with 64 outlets across Singapore. What makes Mr Bean truly special is its commitment to healthy, soy-based products that cater to both sweet and savory preferences, making it a popular destination for health-conscious consumers seeking halal dining options.

The menu at Mr Bean showcases an impressive variety of soy-centric offerings, from their signature Original Recipe pancakes filled with red bean, tuna, chicken mayo, kaya cheese, and innovative seasonal flavors like Gula Melaka and Curry Chicken with Potato. Their wholesome rice bowls feature meat-free alternatives like Japanese Curry and Truffle Mushroom options, while their beverage selection ranges from classic soy milk at $2.50 to exotic drinks like Icy Sea Salt Chendol at $5.20. The brand also offers nutritious rice balls, silky beancurd, grass jelly combinations, and healthy soy granola bars, ensuring there's something for every dietary preference and taste profile.

Mr Bean's recent achievement of complete MUIS halal certification across all outlets represents a significant milestone in Singapore's inclusive dining landscape, making quality soy-based nutrition accessible to the broader Muslim community. The brand's focus on affordability, with most items priced under $6, combined with their commitment to fresh daily preparation and healthy ingredients, positions them as a cornerstone of Singapore's fast-casual dining scene. Their continuous innovation in developing new flavors while maintaining traditional appeal demonstrates their understanding of evolving consumer preferences and their dedication to serving Singapore's diverse culinary landscape.

Buy the $6 SG60 bundle. The Melaka sago pancake tastes bad, worse than Nyonya kueh, and the tau huay has an overnight taste, kind of sour.

Bought 2 cheese pancakes. They were overcooked and cold. I told the lady manning the cashier that I would like ones that were hot and not overcooked. Unfortunately, she didn't take my request well and told me that "cannot do like that". However, a young lady (Ms Wang Siew Tean?) stepped forward and showed what good customer service is. She exchanged the cold, overcooked pancake for a properly cooked and warm one. Well done for her sense of maturity and good customer service attitude.

Ordered Ginger soup beancurb and peanut rice ball soup but was only given Ginger soup rice ball.

Ordered ginger soup with beancurd and peanut rice ball soup, but was only given ginger soup with rice ball. So I had to wait for another bowl of rice ball soup. I paid $100 to the cashier (the same person who prepared the food and took the order), but she gave me $4x in change. Wow, my two bowls of rice balls cost $5x. So I went back to tell her about the short change. She checked her cash register and gave me back $50 without making eye contact. I was angry with her behaviour, so I told her to focus on her work. She didn’t look at me at all, so I repeated my words. She unwillingly and very softly said sorry. I didn’t want to make a big fuss, so I walked out. I hope the management sees my review and provides proper training to your staff. Thanks.

Bought 2 Cheese $2.10 each, 2 crunchy peanut $2.10 each and 2 egg mayo $2.10 each because 5 free 1.

Bought 2 Cheese ($2.10 each), 2 Crunchy Peanut ($2.10 each), and 2 Egg Mayo ($2.10 each) because of the 'buy 5 free 1' promotion. When I got home, they had given me 3 Chocolate buns ($1.90 each) instead. I bought them because I was craving Egg Mayo and I didn't receive any at all. Very disappointed that they could mix up the order so easily.

I paid for an ice cream cone and was told to wait for over 10 minutes because the machine had broken down after the previous customer ordered three ice creams. After waiting, I was informed there was no more ice cream as the machine was broken. I was expecting some form of service recovery for wasting 15 minutes of my time waiting for a cone that wouldn't be served. Nothing was offered. There was an ice cream tub in a nearby freezer, and they asked me to top up 80 cents for it. I felt like they purposely broke the machine to get me to buy this more expensive option. At least they could have offered it as a free replacement. Was it my fault the machine broke? Meanwhile, someone before me complained about their drink being too sweet, and the staff member freely topped it up and replaced the drink for him. If my child hadn't insisted on having ice cream, I would have cancelled and requested a refund. Really poor service.

The bread is wholemeal and tasted healthy. However, the peanut butter texture was kind of inconsistent during my separate visits.

Being situated in a hospital, the menu offerings are healthier compared to their regular outlets. The sugar level is capped at 50%, and the pancakes are all made with wholegrain mix. They currently have an opening week special: buy 2 black soy bean drinks for the price of 1, and 2 eggwich pancakes for $5 (usually $7). The current promotion is 2 black soy bean drinks and 2 pancakes for $5.30 (usually $9).

Brings back childhood memories of eating my favourite soya bean ice cream, which probably cost around $1. Yummy! Great variety of choices too, ranging from porridge to soya milk to rice! An all-in-one place for your next meal! :))
