Papa Ayam is Singapore's first Ayam Geprek brand, established in 2018, and serves as the home of the famous WTF Level 27 spice challenge. This Muslim-owned restaurant brings authentic Indonesian fried chicken culture to Singapore, with all food being halal-certified. Ayam Geprek, meaning "smashed chicken," features crispy fried chicken that is smashed on a mortar and pestle and served with original garlic sambal, using traditional Indonesian cooking methods.
The restaurant offers extensive spice customization with levels ranging from 1 to 15, allowing diners to choose their preferred heat intensity. Popular menu items include The Papa Ayam Box with chicken, sambal, rice, Indomie noodles, and crispy skin, along with Ayam Geprek Salted Egg and Satay Taichan varieties. Their sambals are made fresh to order using traditional pestle and mortar methods, including authentic Indonesian sambals like Balinese sambal matah and green chilli varieties.
Papa Ayam operates multiple outlets across Singapore, including locations at 313@Somerset, City Square Mall, Northpoint City, Our Tampines Hub, Paya Lebar Quarter Mall, and VivoCity. Their commitment to authenticity and halal standards has made them a popular destination for Muslim diners and Indonesian food enthusiasts seeking genuine geprek chicken experiences in Singapore.

The fried rice tasted too bland, even with level 10 sambal, it wasn’t good enough.

Bought Nasi Lemak Geprek for lunch today and requested spice level 8. The Nasi Lemak tasted of rancid coconut milk. I've eaten cheap nasi lemak before, but none tasted like this. It was so horrible that I had to throw away the rice. Fortunately, the chicken was good. Please use better quality coconut milk.

Edit: Changed from 1 to 4 stars as they were quick with service recovery and apologetic. Ordered via GrabFood on 3 July at 11:57 am, and the chilli was not provided, which defeats the purpose of the dish.

I've tried all kinds of levels, and levels 15, 13, and 25 were awesome, but they were all takeaway. The spice level was extreme, which I love! Believe me or not, I'm buying 4 times a week, it's that awesome! Guys should try it, it's worth it. The staff service is very good, 5/5.

The food is good, and I really appreciate their 100 percent effort to include kid's meals on their menu. It's great that they even offer the option to separate sauces, considering some kids are picky eaters. Good job! I will definitely continue to support such restaurants!

Had ayam geprek with sambal matah and original. Simple and comforting Indonesian food. The portion is generous for the price. Will definitely be back to try their other kinds of sambal. Staff are friendly and assist well, and food is served within minutes. Recommended!

Love the chicken's tenderness and taste. I also like the mala spicy selection, from level 1 to 10, and the generous amount of chilli provided. The chicken skin is a bit oily, but that's expected for a fried item.
I'd say it's a must-try if you haven't already. The staff were patient and helpful, especially considering my lack of experience in ordering. I will surely come again to try the other ranges of chilli types or spiciness.
