Papa Ayam is Singapore's first Ayam Geprek brand, established in 2018, and serves as the home of the famous WTF Level 27 spice challenge. This Muslim-owned restaurant brings authentic Indonesian fried chicken culture to Singapore, with all food being halal-certified. Ayam Geprek, meaning "smashed chicken," features crispy fried chicken that is smashed on a mortar and pestle and served with original garlic sambal, using traditional Indonesian cooking methods.

The restaurant offers extensive spice customization with levels ranging from 1 to 15, allowing diners to choose their preferred heat intensity. Popular menu items include The Papa Ayam Box with chicken, sambal, rice, Indomie noodles, and crispy skin, along with Ayam Geprek Salted Egg and Satay Taichan varieties. Their sambals are made fresh to order using traditional pestle and mortar methods, including authentic Indonesian sambals like Balinese sambal matah and green chilli varieties.

Papa Ayam operates multiple outlets across Singapore, including locations at 313@Somerset, City Square Mall, Northpoint City, Our Tampines Hub, Paya Lebar Quarter Mall, and VivoCity. Their commitment to authenticity and halal standards has made them a popular destination for Muslim diners and Indonesian food enthusiasts seeking genuine geprek chicken experiences in Singapore.

The quality has degraded over the years; they've probably changed staff, the cooks, and especially the sambal maker. It's now likely one of the worst Ayam Penyet franchises in Singapore. The taste isn't as good as other branches. I paid more for level 15 spice, but the sambal was not spicy at all, very watery, and full of tomatoes. The service is also quite slow, and the staff are inefficient.

Trying Indonesian food that's said to be better than what you eat in Indonesia. I ordered ayam geprek with Indomie. Ayam geprek here comes with fried chicken, sambal, fried chicken skin, Indomie, and shrimp crackers. The chicken is cooked to perfection, and the sambal is delicious, which amazed me. It's different from ayam geprek sambal in Indonesia. In my opinion, it's so much better than in Indonesia. Overall, it's a delicious ayam geprek stall. Highly recommended.

I like the simplicity of choices here. They offer plenty of sambal to satisfy spicy food lovers, and even the level of spiciness can be adjusted for the red chilli. I particularly enjoyed the red chilli. I also liked the green chilli as it wasn't too spicy, and my young one confirmed it wasn't spicy. My kids also enjoyed the chicken. There was a kids' meal available when I visited this place a few weeks ago.

I was craving salted egg chicken with Indomie, and when I searched the internet, it led me to this restaurant called Papa Ayam in Somerset. It was really delicious, crispy, and the sauce tasted heavenly! The Indomie was the best too! Most importantly, the staff named Sufi and Ameer were super nice and friendly. They even helped me with my request of combining Indomie and chicken ayam on one plate, as they usually serve chicken rice sets, not with Indomie. Still, they were kind enough to accommodate my request. Please check them out; it's just a stall in the basement of 313 Somerset, but they have common chairs and tables to enjoy your meal! Thanks again!

Love the fit box option that comes with grilled chicken instead of fried. I believe it offers a slightly larger portion to meet protein needs without being too sinful. However, do note there's a slightly longer waiting time for the grilled chicken. It's worth the wait though! It typically comes with rice, but I was really craving Indomie... There's no dedicated seating, but you can find a seat easily enough nearby.
