I'm a fan of their petai fried rice, which has always been spicy. Recently, they introduced a vegetarian option (which wasn't stated as non-spicy), and it tasted quite bland. I was so disappointed. The staff blamed me for selecting the vegetarian option, claiming it was clear it wasn't spicy. From my experience, it was always vegetarian as there was no meat, and even the picture looked spicy.

Service was great; the staff were friendly and helpful. The food, unfortunately, was below average. The Pad Thai was purely sour without any sweetness and also dry. The breaded prawns were hot but soggy, tasting like they were precooked and reheated.

The beef kailan is good. The fried rice lacks wok hei. The mee goreng is too wet. Looking at the menu, it seems more like a 'sze char' place than a Thai restaurant. Observe the dish pricing, and you'll notice it's likely there's a minimum dish price, similar to a minimum wage policy.

My friend and I were finishing our duty from work and decided to eat something before heading home. So we went to Sakura in Eastpoint Mall. The service was not something I can recommend; I think they need a workshop or to attend a customer service course. The staff seemed too lazy to walk over to customers who wanted to order. And I was shocked that the spoon and fork were not the same design (it's understandable if you're doing that at home). As seen in the pictures, there was no presentation on the fried squid and sauce, and to mention, it was so hard to eat. The sambal kangkong also had a lousy appearance.

Located at Eastpoint Shopping Mall, on level 3, this restaurant offers a comforting blend of Thai food with improving service. The dishes are good, with a nice mixture of tastes and flavours. The restaurant does not charge a service charge. Area of improvement: Even with a small crowd, expect to wait. It would be great to include chilli condiments and crackers while waiting for the dishes to arrive. Sakura Family Restaurant accepts food delivery orders via phone.

One of the best neighbourhood restaurants to visit often, although the portions are small. Unlike northern cuisine which uses vinegar in sweet and sour dishes, Thai cuisine uses lemon. One of the best local dishes is the lemon tofu. It's tender inside and crispy outside, with perfect cooking timing. Unlike hawker style, they use small pieces of tofu. The green mango side dish also matches perfectly. Pineapple fried rice is delectable. All Thai fried rice dishes are tasty, such as the beef and seafood fried rice. This is daily homemade food. Adding salty seafood fried rice into a sweet pineapple bowl makes it full of flavour. Homemade ice lemon tea is a favourite drink, ordered at almost every table. It's not made with British red tea. Overall, it's sweet and kids like it very much. The chef is serious and focused on the dishes. The service staff are friendly. Overall, it's a great neighbourhood daily restaurant, just with small portions.

The last time we dined at Sakura was more than 10 years ago at Compass Point. We had almost forgotten about this store since they shifted out. It was a surprise to see Sakura at Eastpoint Mall, so we decided to give it a try. Glad to say the mee goreng still tastes as good, and we were told that the chef is still the same person from the Compass Point outlet. Their mee goreng is definitely a star dish. I love the texture of the noodles - they have a good bite and aren't soggy. It’s saucier than the usual ones you get elsewhere. They use sambal and chilli padi when frying the mee goreng, which adds a bold kick of spice to the dish. Recommended dish: Mee Goreng

This halal restaurant serves very good tze char. My friend brought me to try their fish head curry as she thinks it's one of the best in town! Indeed! No disappointment! The curry is flavourful and rich, and the fish is fresh! We also had the pandan chicken, homemade beancurd, pettai, and kailan. It can be a little difficult to get the server's attention when it gets busy. But otherwise, it's a friendly family restaurant and I would visit again.
