San.wich is a halal-certified Japanese-inspired sandwich concept by Swee Heng Bakery, Singapore's leading halal bakery chain, offering handcrafted sandwiches made with freshly baked bread and premium ingredients. Located at Lot One Shoppers' Mall in Choa Chu Kang, the shop specializes in unique, colorful breads featuring natural colors like purple, green, orange, and yellow derived from vegetables rather than artificial food coloring. This innovative approach combines visual appeal with natural ingredients, making each sandwich both Instagram-worthy and health-conscious.
The menu offers both savory and sweet options with affordable pricing ranging from .80 to .40, including popular items like Nyonya Curry Chicken with Egg (), Chicken Cutlet & Pumpkin with Egg (), Kit Kat Brownie Sandwich (.20), and Assorted Fruits Sandwich (.20). The natural vegetable-based bread colors create a distinctive product that stands out in Singapore's competitive sandwich market while maintaining the fresh, creative, and quality standards that Swee Heng Bakery is known for.
San.wich represents Swee Heng Bakery's commitment to innovation within halal food production, joining their other concept stores like Crolo (croffles and croissants) and Classic 1989. The brand successfully targets health-conscious consumers and social media-savvy diners who appreciate both aesthetic appeal and halal certification, contributing to Singapore's diverse halal dining options with Japanese-inspired creativity and accessible pricing.

The short, round-shaped female staff with brown skin (who came downstairs from CROLO to help) gave me such an attitude when I greeted her and wanted to make a purchase. The way she rolled her eyes at me was very unprofessional. Honestly, if I treated my customers like that, I would lose my job on the very first day.

Very stingy with the waffle filling. Some of the small stores gave more filling than this.

I came around 10:30 AM hoping to get something small, but only sweet desserts and some sandwiches were ready, so I decided to come back later. When I returned to the shop at 12 PM, which I believe is a peak hour, what I saw was about the same as 1.5 hours ago. I saw online that the operation hours start from 9 AM, and I do understand that it takes some time to prepare the food, but shouldn't everything be ready three hours after the actual opening hours?! Moreover, I saw three people working in the shop, so how is it possible that there was almost no progress in that 1.5 hours? ☹️

I tried the sandwich from Sanwich by Swee Heng for the first time at $3 each, and I was quite disappointed. I thought I'd give it a try, hoping the taste would be different or unique. Unfortunately, the taste was bland and nothing special—it just wasn’t enjoyable.
The sandwich is small, and for the price, it doesn’t feel worth it. Honestly, I could make a better one at home.
On top of that, the staff member was wearing a mask and tried to say something to customers, but it was hard to hear her at all. The interaction came across as a bit rude, which made the experience even less pleasant. Not something I’d buy again.

Waffles can be better. Quite expensive and they are so stingy with their fillings.

Got some Japanese-style sandwiches for Christmas. Almost all the sandwiches have egg in them, so please take note. Service is friendly and quick. Easy deal! The sandwiches are quite filling, so don't let their small size fool you. My favourite meat sandwiches are the Spicy Korean Kimchi (quite spicy) and the Chicken Ham and Egg (it had mini pickles inside, which made the flavour so much better). Buy 2 for a cheaper price (about $5+). Recommended!

Swee Heng has made a lot of contributions in terms of its expansion of the bread or bakery business
Swee Heng has made significant contributions to expanding its bakery business, venturing into gourmet sandwiches with a seamless approach. The use of simple words for the official store name and whitewashed decor gives this diversified bread business a unique class of its own.
I tried their sushi-inspired sandwich and a tuna mayonnaise sandwich, and both were tasty and good value. The sushi sandwich, with white bread acting as the 'Japanese rice,' worked well with the savoury nori seaweed and assorted ingredients like tuna mayonnaise and cucumber. It was so delicious that three pieces felt insufficient to satisfy my hunger.
As for the usual tuna mayonnaise sandwich, it featured a special-flavoured bread generously filled with lettuce or cabbage and a sauce that perfectly tied the whole sandwich together.
