The Udang Clan has brought authentic halal prawn noodles to Singapore's Central Business District, filling a gap that office workers have long felt. This family-run establishment opened in August 2023 at the basement of Hong Leong Building on Raffles Quay, creating a dedicated following among CBD lunch crowds seeking quality hawker fare without leaving the area.
The restaurant specializes in prawn-centric dishes, with their Signature Prawn Noodles leading the menu at price points of S.90, S1.90, or S3.90 depending on prawn size. The rich, flavorful broth has earned consistent praise, demonstrating the kind of depth typically achieved through hours of careful preparation. Traditional laksa with prawns provides an alternative for those seeking coconut-based richness, while the Gong Bao Mala Chicken Noodles offers a departure for diners wanting something beyond seafood.
What distinguishes The Udang Clan is the commitment to using fresh prawns and maintaining consistency despite the high-volume CBD lunch rush. The family operation brings personal attention to quality standards that can sometimes slip in commercial settings. Customer feedback emphasizes both the freshness of ingredients and the homely approach to preparation that makes each bowl feel carefully considered.
Operating Monday through Friday from 10:30am to 4:30pm, the restaurant targets the office crowd specifically, closing on weekends and public holidays. This focused approach allows the family to maintain quality during weekday service without overextending. For Muslim office workers in Raffles Quay who have tired of the usual lunch options, The Udang Clan offers authentic prawn noodles with halal certification and family-style care.

The overall taste of the noodles was alright. The serving was quite generous, and while the broth was a bit flat, on a positive note, it was not salty.

I ordered the specialty “Dry Noodles (Large).” The dish was prepared very efficiently and served with almost no wait. Four large prawns were placed on top, and the accompanying soup came in a generous portion. The noodles can be mixed with two different types, so I went with the shop’s recommended combination.
The sauce coating the noodles wasn’t as heavy as its color suggested, and when paired with the rich prawn soup, the balance was just right. The prawns were plump and satisfying, perfectly steamed to bring out their natural sweetness. The soup itself had a deep prawn flavor, yet without any unpleasant fishiness, making it refined and elegant.
Next time, I’d love to try the soup version as well. The crispy fried shallots, fresh spring onions, and crunchy toppings added the perfect finishing touches, making it a truly well-crafted bowl.

Prawn mee soup - 4.5 stars. Really good, you won't miss the pork! You can ask for the prawns to be shelled without additional charge too. I forgot to ask here, and the prawns were not deveined. Hopefully the shelled ones are!

5/5 Signature Prawn Noodle (dry): extremely tasty with the broth being very strong with prawn flavours. The price is not expensive considering the location too.
Best part about this place, the guy who always takes orders, he is genuinely nice and sincere. You can see that he loves doing what he does.

Unexpectedly one of the best prawn meals I’ve had in Singapore! I tried the dry prawn noodles, which were chewy and flavorful, with chili oil that hits just right. But the laksa truly stole the show: it was creamy yet light, with a rich prawn broth and warm spices that linger. Total comfort food. The crispy pon pon prawns also make the perfect snack! Located in the basement of an office building, it's open weekdays only. It feels like you're blending in with the locals on their lunch break. I will definitely come back for the laksa!
