First time trying (02/09/25). Had their Ayam Penyet - Fried Chicken ($9.90). The fried chicken was a little small and dry, but crispy. The sambal chilli was lacking the spicy kick. Also ordered the ice grass jelly ($3.50) and could feel big chunks of grass jelly in the drink. Had better Ayam Penyet elsewhere at a lower price.

The fried duck here is decent—crispy on the outside. The sambal adds a nice kick, and I appreciate that they offer five spice levels. The tofu and tempeh on the side were a good touch, but overall, it was just an okay experience. I also had Ayam penyet, oxtail soup, and Kang Kong belachan. Worth trying if you’re nearby, but not something I’d go out of my way for.

The Bebek Goreng is very good! The duck is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The chilli is super spicy; one box is enough. They gave us 3.

I had tried Ayam Penyet before but not Bebek Goreng, which is fried duck. Both the fried duck and chicken had a nice crisp, though I would have preferred them to be meatier. One of the best Indonesian food in town. My go-to is Bebek Goreng and Avocado juice. All of their chilli are awesome - my preference is the original chilli and green chilli (for those who prefer less spicy, I personally love this the most). To enjoy the best of the Bebek, do order the original fried duck instead of the shredded ones.

Original Crispy Fried Duck Rice This dish was the highlight of the meal. The duck came out golden and perfectly crispy, yet remained juicy and tender inside—exactly how fried duck should be. The generous sprinkle of crunchy bits (serundeng) on top added texture and flavour, making each bite a treat. Served with warm rice, fresh cucumber, tomato, cabbage, and sautéed kangkung (water spinach), this plate was balanced and satisfying. Original Smashed Fried Chicken Simple, classic, and delicious. The chicken was well-marinated, fried to perfection, and smashed just enough to enhance the crispiness of the skin. It delivered a great bite without being dry, and paired wonderfully with the house-made sambals. Crispy Duck Skin This was like the snack you didn’t know you needed. Extra crispy, well-seasoned, and super addictive—perfect either as a side or a crispy munch alongside the rice dishes. Best enjoyed hot and dipped in chilli. Duck Satay (Sate Bebek) Served on fragrant lemongrass sticks, these duck satays were smoky, juicy, and full of flavour. The charred exterior locked in the juicy meat, and when dipped in the sweet soy-chilli sauce, the flavours just popped. A great twist on the usual satay. Oxtail Soup (Sop Buntut) Comforting and rich, this soup delivered big on flavour. The broth was deep and savoury, enhanced by the natural richness of the oxtail. Chunks of tender meat, carrots, potatoes, and tomato gave it a homestyle feel. Topped with crispy shallots and fresh herbs—it was a nice contrast to all the fried items. Fried Beef Balls Golden-brown and bite-sized, the beef balls were meaty, crispy, and well-seasoned. They had a nice chew and were sprinkled with crunchy fried toppings. A great side dish to share—or keep to yourself. They held up well even after cooling down a bit, which speaks to their quality. The Sambal Game (A true highlight!) If you're a chilli lover, you're in for a treat. Bebek Goreng offers a variety of sambals, and each one brought something special to the table. But hands down, the sambal belacan was the champion. Spicy, savoury, and deeply umami—it delivered a powerful punch that elevated every single dish. Honestly, I could eat it with plain rice and still be satisfied. Final Verdict: Bebek Goreng serves up authentic, flavourful Indonesian comfort food with an emphasis on crispy fried goodness and knockout sambals. Every dish had its own charm, but the fried duck, duck satay, and sambal belacan were absolute standouts. Whether you're going in a group or flying solo, you're guaranteed a satisfying, spice-filled experience.
