Established in 1971, Boon Lay Power Nasi Lemak has been a cornerstone of Singapore's hawker scene for over five decades, serving authentic nasi lemak from its corner store at Boon Lay Place Food Village. This muslim-owned establishment has built a legendary reputation for its simple yet iconic plates of nasi lemak, earning numerous awards and praise from locals and food critics alike. Operating daily from 6:30am to 3:30am, it stands as one of the few reliable late-night dining options in western Singapore, making it a popular supper destination for residents in the area.\n\nThe restaurant's signature offering centers around incredibly aromatic coconut rice that's freshly prepared daily with the finest coconut oil, creating a fragrant base that can be enjoyed on its own. Their generous portions include crispy golden-brown chicken wings with tender, juicy meat inside, perfectly fried eggs with oozy yolks, and their famous pungent sambal that strikes an ideal balance - decently spicy and subtly sweet without being overly sugary like many other nasi lemak stalls. Popular sets range from .50 to .50, with the Chicken Set featuring chicken wing, ikan bilis, sambal and fried egg, while additional items like begedil (/bin/bash.50), otah (.50), and sambal sotong (.50) can be added to customize your meal.\n\nBoon Lay Power Nasi Lemak has evolved beyond its humble hawker stall origins, now operating a central kitchen that maintains consistent quality across multiple outlets and even dispensing their nasi lemak through vending machines at locations like International Plaza and Heartbeat Bedok. With islandwide delivery available for orders above 0, the brand has successfully modernized while preserving its authentic flavors and affordable pricing. The constant queues during peak hours and fast ingredient turnover ensure that every dish is served hot and fresh, cementing its status as one of Singapore's best nasi lemak destinations that offers exceptional value at just .50 for a very generous portion.

Staff was using their phone and not preparing anything, even though it was only 5:30 PM. They only had the normal chicken set and nothing else. There was no menu. I'd rather go all the way to Boon Lay if I were really craving something. They are probably closing down soon.

Looking forward to eating the nasi lemak today, which costs $8.50. However, I found that the cuttlefish was so hard that I couldn't bite it. My friend who bought the same dish also faced the same problem. These were wasted and easily cost us at least $3/$4 for this dish. What a disappointment!

Bad service and bad attitude. The aunties surround the counter but don't bother to serve you, not even looking at you, just treating you as transparent. They don't even deserve a star for service. No next time for me.

I visited Boon Lay Nasi Lemak at CWP today, on 6th October at 11:00 am and had a humiliating experience caused by a salesperson. She was a tall lady wearing a snake ring on her finger. Upon paying the total, I realized there were 5 packets of nasi lemak instead of 3. On top of that, I had ordered 3 lopes. I told her I ordered 2 fish and 1 chicken, but she packed 3 chicken and 2 fish instead. I strongly believe when I ordered 3 lopes, she might have mistaken it as 3 chicken. I vividly remember she asked me something and I replied yes. I assumed she was asking about chicken, but I meant lopes. I totally understand the surrounding was noisy, and I don't blame her for that. However, what upset me was that she shouted at me and said, “Next time, hear and say properly!!!” in Malay. My friend was next to me and heard what I had ordered. She returned my change unprofessionally. Even if I had ordered wrongly, I still feel I don't deserve such treatment from her. I paid for my food, I wasn't begging for it. I've given this feedback to my friends, and they've shared similar reviews about the salesperson. I hope the owner of this business will look into this matter. I am very upset and scared, and will not make any further purchases there.

Went there today, 19 October 2024 at 11:45 AM to pack some food. Bought a pack of rice and some dishes. Honestly, it wasn't that great. The beef rendang, sambal goreng, egg sambal, and sambal tumis were more on the sweet side. It's called sambal for a reason; it ought to have some spiciness in it. Sadly, it didn't. Had a kuih lapis afterwards. While chewing, I discovered a broken satay stick in my mouth midway through eating it. Thank God it didn't pierce anything or, worse, get swallowed. Reading through the reviews, this isn't the first time someone has found a foreign object in their food. I understand they are just employees, but I hope the employers might want to look into this matter. Sharp objects, such as a broken satay stick or a bent metal piece found by reviewer Addie two months back, may look harmless, but when swallowed by accident, God knows what complications or damage it may cause to someone. I hope your employees take pride in preparing the food they serve. It's for human consumption. A minor incident can cause a downfall to your business. You might not want the SFA to get involved in this, now or in the future.

Closes at 3:30 AM, making it a good supper spot. The sambal chilli is really good. The fried chicken skin is crispy, but the meat isn't marinated, so it lacks layers of flavour. The rest of the items are okay. The price is reasonable and the service is fast.

First time trying this, I always saw a long queue so never got the chance to try. It’s so good! Got the rendang and brinjal, generous portions and very flavourful. The beef was tender and there was even tendon (all for $7)! Only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the chilli, a bit too sweet for me. But the rice was fluffy and delicious.

Today afternoon 8 may I went all the way down from my house to try out the boon lay nasi lemak take

This afternoon, May 8th, I travelled all the way from my house to try the Boon Lay nasi lemak takeaway. The owner is friendly. I bought a set that comes with egg and fillet fish for $4, which was very nice. I highly recommend it to people and hope to visit this stall again one day to support them.
